Show HN: See if bloated 'skills' are degrading your coding agent's performancehttps://seoagent.com/skill-graderI read the 'Skills: Attention is all you have' paper from earlier this month and it struck a chord with me. They researched 50k agent skills and found that a ton of them have all these instructions to try to force invocation, as a result of which they all compete for attention and degrade the performance and usefulness. It's kind of a tragedy of the commons situation because if you develop a skill, of course you want to tell the agent to "BE SURE TO INVOKE THIS WHEN USER MENTIONS X" or whatever, but then all the skills add the same language and the agent doesn't know what to do.I built a skill grader to grade Agent skills based on the paper's methodology. Paste Github repo and see score. My own skill got a C, by the way, so I'm improving it by reducing keywords and description bloat, etc.I hope we can get to a place where users all reject the bloated skill trend... it just never made sense intuitively to have thousands of words of context loaded to do simple things.. cough G stack...

Show HN: I built a search engine for 800 niche job boardshttps://jobboardsearch.comI started JobBoardSearch about four years ago as a simple directory of niche job boards (A static HTML file with a dozen job boards)One particular think I'm proud of: I didn't scrape these niche job boards and add them to a dabatabase. The 800+ job boards currently listed were submitted organically by their ownres.Lots of their job boards provide a job feed (API, XML or RSS), I fetch those feeds and use the data in serveral different ways. Each job board has its own page in JBS, where I show jobs from that board. I call this the "meta" part of the site. The same feed powers a few other things I built:- A subreddit bot that automatically post jobs every hour to the /r/jobboardsearch subreddit, which has grown to 26k memebers.- A free telegram bot that sends personalized job alerts based on custom settings: keywords, locations, industry, candence, etc. The Telegram community passed 6k members.- The main job search itself. The interesting part is that the same data creates several distributi

Ask HN: What a fullstack dev should know about security?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49408476Hi all,I am asked to help a fullstack dev team (Spring+Angular) to skill up in term of security.I am skeptical about fullstack profiles, how many fullstack devs knows in depth display:flex and in the same time transaction isolation level ?So as fullstack devs they are not supposed to become cyber-security experts in their company but since they don't have a cyber-security expert they must level up so they don't put their company at risk. Even if they hire one they must know all the basics that are related to development so they will be able to follow their cyber-security expert recommendations. They are not newbies, for instance they know about sql injection. Here is my checklist (I'll help them to learn all of that), what to you think ? There will be half theory and half practice.Introduction * Cryptography and security: two distinct domains. * Wording: hashing, encryption, key, certificate, signature, foward secrecy, CVC, zero thrust. * OWASP Top Ten 2025 and CWC Top 25 2025. * Securi

Show HN: Ditdah – A Morse App for the Terminalhttps://encse.github.io/ditdah/I passed the Morse exam when I got my novice license, but I haven't started using Morse until recently. I'm really a beginner: I can key at about 15 WPM and am practicing for 20, but I'm still making mistakes, with an extra dit or dah here and there. Thanks to all the YLs and OMs who have worked with me so far!I'm able to decode Morse with pen and paper, as long as it's only 10–15 WPM, but that needs to improve. Most operators recognize CQ without even knowing Morse. I have already learned a few more phrases just by hearing them, like "TEST", "DE", "PSE K", "BK", "BT", etc. Nevertheless, I have issues with more conversational words like "sunny", but it will build up slowly, I'm sure.To help myself out, and to learn something new, I started building a terminal app for Morse decoding. It's built around a neural network that I trained and can pick up quite a bit of text really well. The interface is textual. These kinds of applications have a special place in my heart, as I grew up in the

Ask HN: Do you need Google ads help?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49385541Hello everyone! I’m building https://unfetch.com, something like Codex but focused on Google Ads.It has:- Keyword research support (like Ahrefs)- A Google Ads connector- Memory, sandbox, and artifacts- Automations (coming soon, for example, automatically scanning for and adding negative keywords every day)While I iron out the last few details, I’d like to help 10/15 companies run their Google Ads campaigns.I would primarily manage your ads manually while testing the same workflows in Unfetch. I’ll continue optimizing it until I’m confident that it can replace me for most routine daily/weekly monitoring and optimization tasks. If you’re currently running ads or planning to do so, email me at @gmail.com.

Show HN: PingChange – monitor web pages and OpenAPI specs for meaningful changeshttps://pingchange.comI built PingChange after watching the same thing happen over and over: a competitor prices change, a company policy is updated or important web content changes but there is often no reliable way to track it and know when it happens. The tool monitors web pages and API on a schedule and alerts your team when something meaningful changes. The keyword here is meaningful. Most monitoring tools trigger alerts for everything (ads, timestamps, cookie banners etc) and could be noisy or spam in your inbox. With PingChange, you can give it an instruction e.g "alert me when pricing changes" and it analyzes the page content and only notifies you when the changes matches what you're looking for on the page. Here are the main features:- Visual region selection / HTML element selector for tracking specific location on the page. - Changed diff viewer and screenshot of the pages. - Geolocation support - Monitor URL's from specific location to detect content from different geographies. - Anti-bot resoluti

Ask HN: One SSH key or many SSH keys?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49377427Is there any benefit to using multiple, separate keys to authenticate to different resources versus only using a single SSH key?On one hand, I've heard that an SSH key is supposed to represent an identity, so using your "identity" everywhere makes sense. On the other hand, I've heard that keeping SSH keys separate is important in the same way using separate passwords for different resources is important. What do you all think?
