Show HN: Repobeats – self-hostable GitHub activity cards in RustHi HN,I built Repobeats, an open-source, self-hostable service that renders GitHub repository activity as embeddable SVG cards.Demo: https://repobeats.com/AprilNEA/OpenLogiSource: https://github.com/AprilNEA/repobeatsI had been using Axiom’s Repobeats, but noticed that some cards I relied on were no longer updating consistently. The original service is still online; I wanted an alternative where I could inspect and control the collection, storage, caching, and rendering pipeline.Repobeats runs as a Rust backend built with Axum and SeaORM. A repository owner opts in by installing a read-only GitHub App. The service then collects commits, issues, pull requests, and repository metadata. GitHub installation tokens are short-lived and are never stored. The generated cards support multiple themes, sizes, and time ranges, and use ETags and cache headers for browser/CDN caching. For self-hosting, SQLite is enough for a small single-instance deployment. PostgreSQL is supported for multi-instance

Show HN: OpenInstinct – open-source, self-hostable Instinct cloneWe love Instinct, but have been increasingly worried about the data footprint we are handing over to them, and what they might do with that data.So we built an oss self-hostable version. It includes a vault that can store cards, logins, and personal information, so it can execute complex tasks on your behalf, like:"Get me two tickets to the odyssey on saturday at my nearest theatre""Find me the best golf grip trainer and order it for me""Read my email and find opportunities to save money by cancelling subscriptions I don't use"The tech stack: - Eve agent framework for durable agent runs- Linq for iMessage- Kernel for browser use / credential injection- Postgres for DB- Vercel AI gateway so you can use any model- Vercent Connect for google workspace and other connectorsWe welcome community contributions and feedback! This is still beta software, so I wouldn't use it in production, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised with its capability and personality

Show HN: Proliferate- open-source, self-hostable Codex for any coding agentHi HN- I'm Pablo, the founder of Proliferate (YC S25)!Proliferate (https://github.com/proliferate-ai/proliferate) is an open-source, self-hostable AI IDE that lets you work and automate tasks with Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Cursor, and Grok in one place. Here's a quick 2m demo of how we use Proliferate to build Proliferate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGNX0oaWmBYI started building Proliferate after my team onboarded to OpenAI Codex. Within days, we were using it for everything: using computer use instead of navigating websites ourselves, having Codex coordinate other agents, and setting up automations for recurring work. We really never needed to leave the desktop app to get work done.If my team’s experience is anything close to representative, a Codex-like app (a horizontal agent with a beautiful UI) is the main interface every company is going to use to get work done. That is perfectly in line with OpenAI’s mission to make Codex the everything app (see: https://news.ycombinator

TransAstra aims to move 100-ton asteroid to stable orbit for processingSAN FRANCISCO — TransAstra is performing a study, funded by investors and customers, to explore the technical feasibility of moving a 100-metric-ton asteroid to a stable near-Earth orbit. “We want to bring an asteroid to the Earth-moon system and turn it into a robotic research outpost for materials processing and manufacturing in space,” Joel Sercel, […] The post TransAstra aims to move 100-ton asteroid to stable orbit for processing appeared first on SpaceNews.

Understanding USDT How Stablecoins Maintain Value in Volatile MarketsLos Angeles CA (SPX) Jan 26, 2026 Cryptocurrency markets are known for extreme price swings, where values can rise or drop dramatically within hours. This volatility creates uncertainty for traders, investors, and institutions trying to move assets safely. Stablecoins have emerged to provide a consistent value anchor amid these fluctuations, offering predictable liquidity and price stability. Among them, USDT stands as one of th

A New Alloy is Enabling Ultra-Stable Structures Needed for Exoplanet DiscoveryA unique new material that shrinks when it is heated and expands when it is cooled could help enable the ultra-stable space telescopes that future NASA missions require to search for habitable worlds. One of the goals of NASA’s Astrophysics Division is to determine whether we are alone in the universe. NASA’s astrophysics missions seek […]
