It’s a simple app, all things considered; however, what I would like the community’s input on is how I can improve the accuracy.I currently use the C++ TensorFlow Lite library to load the base(yup base, not tiny) English Whisper model into the app. This is passable for the most part, with about 88%–93% accuracy based on my research and experience using the app. But these newer models, like the ones used in the basic Google Recorder, hover around 95%–96% accuracy (to simplify things).I know that as a solo developer, I won't have access to those proprietary Google models. However, if anyone is familiar with an easily accessible model with higher accuracy than the base Whisper model that is roughly the same size (or smaller), I would love to hear about it for future releases. Slack was great for engaging with community members and with early sales. However as community scales Slack becomes this black hole where context becomes lost. Most public communities can’t afford to pay for several hundred/thousand members so they are limited to 10,000 free messages. You run into the problem of people asking repeat questions and not searching in Slack. It also doesn’t help that the Slack UX encourages posting and not searching. For a little background, I'm 25, spent 3 years at Shell Oil Co. as a Territory Sales Manager, and quit my job about 6 months ago to join a YC startup in SF. I ended up leaving the company for a variety of reasons, and now face a decision to either go work at Google on their inside sales team in Mountain View, or take a business development lead role at a startup in Pittsburgh, PA. The cofounder and I worked together in college and we actually started a company together during our last year in school. I trust him (I toasted at his wedding this summer), and the company has a solid revenue growth curve with a product that I believe has great potential.I've always wanted to start a company of my own in the next few years or so, and I want to choose the role that will put me in the best position to succeed when that time comes.
