From the onset of this endeavor until today it has just been me, my laptop, and my ideas I learned how systems work through trial and error, and I built these platforms because after an exhaustive search I discovered a need. I am fully aware that a 54 year old fantasy novelist with no formal training creating one experimental platform, let alone three, in his kitchen, on a commercial grade Dell stretches credulity to the limits (or beyond). But I am hoping that my work speaks for itself. Although admittedly, it might speak to my insane bullheadedness and unwillingness to give up on an idea. No tool existed for this on a personal device, so I built one. What it does: generates binary sequences from either device CSPRNG (local entropy) or quantum RNG sourced from vacuum fluctuation measurements via Cisco Outshift's API, records six simultaneous environmental sensor channels (magnetometer, barometer, ambient sound, WiFi RSSI, Bluetooth variance), computes z-scores per session and per phase following PEAR's four-phase protocol structure, and stores everything in a local vault for longitudinal analysis. In diagnostic testing, many terms are used to describe how well the test detects the disease or disorder. Examples are “sensitivity”, “specificity”, “predictive values”, “odds ratio”, “likelihood ratios” and numerous others. In the literature and medical presentations there is often not much consistency in their use; as a physician listening to or reading research, I was perpetually unclear on how these terms “fit together”. My solution was to invent the visual 2 by 2 diagram, or truth diagram, as a graphical alternative to the standard contingency table used in diagnostic testing (Johnson 1999). The concepts listed above, and many others, are represented graphically, and their inter-relationships can be clearly visualized. Instead of four numbers in a grid, a single rectangle on a coordinate system encodes all four cells of the 2×2 table through its position and shape. It's JSON with embedded code — git diffs are a mess, linters don't see it, and you can't just open a cell in your editor and have things work. There are tools that help (jupytext, nbstripout) but they all work around the format rather than replacing it.Looseleaf takes a different approach: a notebook is just a directory of .py files. Each file is a cell. They run in alphabetical order, so you use numbered prefixes (01_load.py, 02_train.py). One long-running Python process holds the shared namespace across all of them, so variables from cell 1 are available in cell 2 — same model as Jupyter, different storage.When a cell runs, output is written to a .output sidecar file (JSON with stdout, stderr, images, timing).
