Show HN: Rate Floor Pricer – like price insurance on GPU, estimated in real timeGPU leases have become massive price bets.To meet surging demand, companies are signing multi-year GPU contracts but this also means they're taking on serious duration risk in the process. Over the next 3 to 5 years, any single SKU of GPU can decline in price due to depreciation, obsolescence, or simple oversupply. As a result, companies have realized that they need a hedge, but bilateral, bespoke derivatives are arcane, slow, and difficult to navigate. That's why we built a self-serve pricer for cash-settled rate floors: Pick your SKU, calendar months, coverage, and floor level, and see your floor priced in about a minute. Many companies have already been using this tool to paper eight-figure notional agreements. Now we're bringing it to everyone.

Ask HN: Finding Equity Only Jobs(throwaway account)After a long career at big tech companies, I saved enough money to FIRE and I quit my job about a year ago. While I enjoy the peace of mind and the lack of stress, I enjoy building things and spending the rest of my life doing nothing is not my path for happiness.I tried to create my own business but doing some of the non technical work was not really my cup of tea AND working by myself felt a bit lonely. Now I'm considering if I should join an early startup, and since the financial part is not a concern to me, I could work for little or no money (obviously with enough equity to make up for that). However I don't even know where to look for jobs like that: - There are places for co founder matching, but that is not what I want to be - Vast majority of people on my personal network are either on big tech, or tried startups for 1-2 years and went back to big tech. - Cold reaching random companies sounds like odd.Does anyone has some good advice or suggestions for what I

A technology that counts reps and scores muscle failure from the Apple WatchHi HN, I built this.Riven turns Apple Watch motion into three things: when a set starts and ends, which exercise you're doing, how many reps you did, and how close that muscle got to failure. The only sensor it uses is the Watch's 100 Hz motion sensor. No manual input at all. Say goodbye to manual logging. The idea behind it is old and well-tested: reps slow down as you approach failure. Velocity-based training has used this principle for years, but it typically requires a sensor on the bar or a camera pointed at it, so it's mostly limited to barbell exercises. I built the same concept using only the sensors already inside the Apple Watch. The tough part is knowing when a set starts and finishes, especially when you're moving around a busy gym, and differentiating reps from noise. After extensive ML training, we've gotten it to a point where it works really well.App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/riven-reps-muscle-failure/id6770362701 Website: https://riven.fitHappy to answer any ques

Show HN: I built a lite LPU that can do inference on Karpathy's MicroGPTWe had no guide or course that teaches chip design at our university. We had taken a digital logic course, but were disappointed with the fact that the most complex project we did was building a full adder in Quartus using logic blocks, not even in RTL!5 Therefore, we decided to challenge ourselves to dive deep into machine learning (ML) hardware and learn as much as we could on our own. We wanted to prove that basic math (like y = mx + b) and basic logic circuits are enough to help anyone understand how modern AI hardware works. Our goal was to design our own version of the LPU from scratch and run a simple Transformer-style model on it, proving that with minimal Machine Learning and computer design knowledge, it’s totally possible. We were also driven by a simple question: What makes the LPU architecture so compelling that even Nvidia licensed it?Keep in mind, this article is not intended to serve as a tutorial for “how to build an LPU from scratch,” and our architecture is not a 1:1
