Ask HN: How to stop an AWS bot sending 2B requests/month?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45613567I have been struggling with a bot– 'Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; crawler)' coming from AWS Singapore – and sending an absurd number of requests to a domain of mine, averaging over 700 requests/second for several months now. Thankfully, CloudFlare is able to handle the traffic with a simple WAF rule and 444 response to reduce the outbound traffic.I've submitted several complaints to AWS to get this traffic to stop, their typical followup is: We have engaged with our customer, and based on this engagement have determined that the reported activity does not require further action from AWS at this time.I've tried various 4XX responses to see if the bot will back off, I've tried 30X redirects (which it follows) to no avail. The traffic is hitting numbers that require me to re-negotiate my contract with CloudFlare and is otherwise a nuisance when reviewing analytics/logs.I've considered redirecting the entirety of the traffic to aws abuse report page, but at this scall, it's essentially a small DOct 17, 2025 5:28 AM

Ask HN: How would you rebuild software PM in non-software Big Co? And would you?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45610840After 20+ years in software SMEs and startups across China and SEA, I bit the bullet and moved to the EU to join a manufacturing BigCo as a developer. So far, I don't regret it, but the ways of working - and especially managing projects - are very different from what I'm used to.It's a very old, very large (15,000+ employees), and very traditional European company. Show HN: I made a clipboard-triggered YouTube summarizer (no paste, 2 taps)https://apps.apple.com/us/app/esse-ai-video-summarizer/id6751778111How it works:Copy a YouTube link → open app → it auto-detects from clipboard, pulls metadata + transcript, and generates a structured summary (key points + narrative) in seconds. No inputs, no pasting, no prompting. Supports 60+ languages for summaries, the video's language doesn't matter. Why I built:I had an endless queue of educational videos but no time to sit through rambling or clickbait. ChatGPT flow = copy → open → paste → prompt → pray it formats correctly. Existing summarizers felt feature-bloated or unreliable. I wanted something super minimalist: “clipboard → value” on repeat.Decisions:Stack — React Native 0.81 (New Arch) + TypeScriptClipboard trick— Monitors clipboard on app start/resume — no manual pasteCaching— Stores transcripts + summaries in AsyncStorage with metadata— fast image library prevents repetitive refetchingAPIs— YouTube metadata— Third-party transcript provider (exploring Whisper)— OpenAI for summarizationOutput— Structured prompts → consistent format acrossOct 16, 2025 3:39 PM

Show HN: Inkeep (YC W23) – Agent Builder to create agents in code or visuallyhttps://github.com/inkeep/agentsHi HN! I'm Nick from Inkeep. We built an agent builder with true 2-way sync between code and a drag-and-drop visual editor, so devs and non-devs can collaborate on the same agents. Here’s a demo video: https://go.inkeep.com/video.As a developer, the flow is: 1) Build AI Chat Assistants or AI Workflows with the TypeScript SDK 2) Run `inkeep push` from your CLI to publish 3)Edit agents in the visual builder (or hand off to non-technical teams) 4) Run `inkeep pull to edit in code again. We built this because we wanted the accessibility of no-code workflow builders (n8n, Zapier), but the flexibility and devex of code-based agent frameworks (LangGraph, Mastra). We also wanted first-class support for chat assistants with interactive UIs, not just workflows. OpenAI got close, but you can only do a one-time export from visual builder to code and there’s vendor lock-in.How I've used it: I bootstrapped a few agents for our marketing and sales teams, then was able to hand off so they can maintain Oct 16, 2025 12:50 PM
