We Accidentally Built the Fastest On-Ramp to Visuals and Why It MattersTL;DR (for serial founders who scan before they dive) Problem: Image generation tools feel like demo-ware — slow, spammy UIs, hidden paywalls.Insight: YC-style “do things that don’t scale” can actually hyper-scale when you aim at the emotional bottleneck (creative friction, not GPU hours).Solution: Lartist.ai → a “zero-friction studio” that turns plain text or sketches into polished, brand-ready visuals in < 15 s, with built-in restyling, inpainting, erasing & 4× upscaling.Traction: 32 k free users, 1.8 k paid seats, 7-figure annualized run-rate — all in 11 weeks, without paid ads.Ask: Roast our product, steal our prompts, or plug the API into your weekend project. We’ll answer every HN comment.(Still here? Good. The real story’s below.)The Moment We Realized “Pretty” Wasn’t Enough Late at night, on a shaky Zoom, our designer typed:“I need ONE hero image in the next two hours. Midjourney + Photoshop combo is killing me.”That single line triggered a rabbit-hole brainstorm: If a pro with

Show HN: OrcaCam – A Flappy Bird-style game celebrating Cambridge innovationHello HN. I built OrcaCam, a Flappy Bird style game where you control an orca and dodge columns while learning surprising facts about innovations that came out of Cambridge, UK (DNA, IVF, the webcam etc). The top score is visible in a shopping center in Cambridge City center for the next few months.I’m using pure JS (ES5), no frameworks. It’s a fully offline-capable PWA, using a service worker. I’ve not written a game in years, so was a fun way to learn what’s possible on the web today using the latest standards. The hardest part was a consistent level of gameplay on different resolutions.Anyway, it’s playable on desktop, mobile and even a Tesla dash -> https://orcascan.com/game - let me know what you thinkPS: where is the best place to publish a PWA?

Show HN: ChatGPT Page Rebuilt in React and Tailwind (3‑min speed‑run video)I’ve been experimenting with ultra-fast UI builds. This time, I challenged myself to clone the ChatGPT page using React (Vite) and Tailwind CSS—start to be shown just three minutes. The goal was pixel-accuracy, based on a custom Figma layout inspired by OpenAI’s ChatGPT design. I recorded the process as a 3-minute speed-run video.– GitHub: https://github.com/andreupifarre/chatgpt-clone – Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTOBF-r4zKYThe original ChatGPT page features clean typography, smooth section transitions, and a minimalist aesthetic. I reproduced the layout and interactions with Tailwind’s utility classes and a few lightweight custom components.I’d love to hear feedback from fellow builders—what would you improve, or how would you tackle this challenge?

Show HN: Principles of Building AI Agents book [pdf]Hi, I’m Sam, the cofounder/CEO of Mastra, the Typescript agent framework. I wrote a book on building agents and wanted to share it with HN.The book is called Principles of Building AI Agents. Right now it has 34 chapters and 148 pages covering LLMs, prompting, agents, workflows, RAG, evals, multi-agent, tracing, deployment, MCP, tool use, and a few other topics. The backstory here is that last October when we started working on Mastra we knew very little about AI engineering, and had to learn as we were building. In January, we started going to local AI meetups. We met a lot of people who were where we’d been. Somehow, we turned from students to teachers. Whenever an explanation seemed to stick we’d go home and put it in our docs or blog. One day my cofounder Shane turned to me and was like, what if you wrote a book on this stuff?I was initially skeptical, but I tried writing an outline and it was pretty natural. So I spent the next couple weekends trying to hammer our posts into book for

Ask HN: How Fit3d Works? So, I want to make my own version of fit3d , the 3d body scanning app. Partly because it too expensive for me and partly to match my desired use. I thought opensource software like meshroom could be used to get a 3d point cloud, but the best use case I could find for scanning yourself alone was: standing still on a turntable that gets rotated 360° (not practical). Did fit3d have to build everything from ground up, a custom built photogrammetry tool, by building upon, for example https://ethz.ch/content/dam/ethz/special-interest/baug/igp/photogrammetry-remote-sensing-dam/documents/pdf/math-of-photogrammetry.pdf ?

Show HN: Scratch Radio Ft Doctor Von Peel: An LLM / Cat-Based Apple Music ClientThis is an MacOS Apple Music client I built.Instead of a library, or a list of songs, it's pretty much just a simple, beautiful chat UI.You are chatting with the legendary Doctor Von Peel, who is a DJ, but also an adorable cat.Doctor Von Peel (who is technically a triage of LLMs, using an OpenRouter backend) is able to control your Apple Music via tool calls. You can either ask him to play something specific, or just a vibe, and refine as you go. It's quite a refreshing way to stream music, I think.Having said that, Doctor Von Peel speaks in a combination of Cajun, German, and London slang, and I suppose some people might find this grating. Doctor Von Peel is inspired by Dr, John, John Peel, some other very charming but not-famous people I know, and the pleasant, fever-dream aesthetic I remember computers having when I was a child ("Who is this paperclip man, and what could he want?"). I also like when there are little animals on my computer.I built it as a "for myself" project because

Show HN: Flip Your Weather AroundHi HN, Weatherflip started as a side project and gradually became something I keep coming back to. I’ve always been slightly obsessed with weather. After living in the UK—with its poorly insulated homes—I was always chasing warmer climates.I built Weatherflip to answer a simple question: where in the world has the weather I want, either right now or later in the year? It uses historical data and short-term forecasts from yr.no, updated daily. Helpful for planning trips, moves, or just daydreaming. It’s still early. I’d love feedback—especially on what feels useful and what doesn’t.
