Show HN: ExtraBrain - local-first desktop copilot for live callsHi HN, I’m the maker of ExtraBrain.I built it because I kept running into the same problem in high-pressure live conversations: the call moves faster than my notes. By the time I’ve captured the prompt, constraints, edge cases, or action items, the conversation has already shifted.ExtraBrain is a Mac desktop app that gives you a private live workspace during interviews, meetings, lectures, and research calls. It can transcribe the session, keep track of context, help structure answers or follow-ups, and turn the session into notes afterward.A few things I cared about while building it:It’s local-first: transcripts, screenshots, prompts, and notes can stay on your Mac. It supports local transcription / local models where installed and compatible. You can bring your own OpenAI, Anthropic, Claude, Codex, or compatible provider access. It does not join your meeting as a bot. The free version is usable; Pro adds workflow/history/profile features. I know the interview-assistant category is s

Show HN: Blamo A vibecoded app for vibecoding vibe gamesHey HN, my name is Sam. My buddy Danny and I (and our good friend Claude) have been making this fun app to make and share vibe games. You just describe whatever game pops into your deranged little mind, and BLAMO! there it is, playable on your phone in under 30 seconds.Super Mario Breakout? BLAMO! https://www.blamo.ai/vibes/7350a500-09bb-4ed9-866d-001006f6f...Text Adventure PacMan? BLAMO! https://www.blamo.ai/vibes/781cdd12-bc00-4f1a-8c6c-9726e143f...And not just games, they can be little digital toys, and you can use generative AI _inside_ your creations. So you could make a digital pet generator, or maybe a creepy AI Mother's Day Card maker: https://www.blamo.ai/s/wfVwdBecause we're nerds who love recursion we obviously had to go down the rabbit hole of making a vibe game maker inside of our vibe game maker (and then make a vibe game maker inside of _that_ vibe game maker): https://www.blamo.ai/vibes/aad0b712-6459-48f9-a4ae-639b138a1...We think it's a fun way to try out ideas and to

Show HN: A Wheel of Fortune game you can run in the browserA couple years ago I shared my Jeopardy-style game maker on HN, Buzzinga. A bunch of folks ended up using it for team events, classrooms, and game nights, which was fun to see.I kept running into the same problem with "Wheel of Fortune"-style games though. The options are basically:- Console games (Wii, Switch, etc.) - PowerPoint templates - Or cobbling up some DIY solutionI don't have a console and the other options were clunky. I wanted something that:- Runs entirely in the browser - Doesn't require players to use their phones - Handles the game flow so the host isn't juggling rules, manually updating scores, remembering who's next, etc.So I built Spinorama: https://spinorama.ioA few things that might be interesting here:- The host drives everything from a single screen, players just call things out (no phones required) - Game flow is stateful and enforced, so you can't accidentally break the rules mid-round - Uses the Web Speech API for turn prompts (spin, buy a vowel, solve, etc.)

Tell HN: An update from the new Tindie teamReceived by email tonight about two hours ago:Dear Tindie Community,My name is Gongyu Su, and I am writing on behalf of the new Tindie ownership team.First, we sincerely apologize for the recent downtime and the disruption it caused. We understand that many buyers and community members were left without clear information during the transition, and that this created frustration and concern.Tindie is now owned by EETree LLC, a Washington State company. Our team took over Tindie because we believe it remains an important platform for makers, hardware creators, engineers, and independent sellers around the world. The recent transition was more complex than expected. Tindie runs on an older technical framework with many connected services, and the migration from the previous operating environment to the new one took longer and caused more disruption than anyone wanted. We know this was not the experience the Tindie community deserved. Our immediate focus is to stabilize the platform, resolve

Show HN: I built a blogging platform (5 years in, struggling with distribution)A bit of context…I've been building https://blogmaker.app since April 2021, 5 years now. The launch tweet: https://x.com/BlogmakerApp/status/1383742023627247630I had built it initially as a personal challenge to see if I could have a working product for 20 hours worth of work, and I did it. This was way before AI tools.A few months later, I included a Stripe button and the first payment came immediately in.In September 2022 I decided to focus (give up my contract gigs as a designer/dev). I took out a personal loan for $20K and then an angel investor handed me another $30K, so I could fully focus on Blogmaker (blogstatic then). And that's what I did. Night and day. Mostly working on the product and getting it to where it is now. It was super basic in the beginning, with one theme and non–SEO advanced features that it has now.Up to the end of 2024, prices were yearly only with $19/year and $49/year being the bestsellers.Throughout this time, I was constantly told (by good meaning friends
