Show HN: Odeva Booking – A unified PMS for holiday parks and campgroundshttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48376362Hey HN,I'm a solo developer based in Zeeland, The Netherlands. I've been building Odeva, a property management system for holiday parks, vacation rentals, and campgrounds. It's a headless-first tool that's built specifically for the small-to-mid independent operators that legacy PMS vendors ignore. Still deciding on open-sourcing the project. The problem: Most park management software was built 10+ years ago, designed for enterprise procurement, not for the receptionist or park manager who might not need all the bells and whistles. A 50-unit holiday park ends up paying €15K-70K/year across their PMS, channel manager, payment processing, owner portal, guest app, accounting integrations, and the manual labor of making it all work together. Small parks just eat the cost or cobble together spreadsheets. The result is that no PMS wants to help the little guys, and you end up with a package that is too expensive for them. What I've built so far (alpha since May 2026, in production with early uJun 2, 2026 9:11 PM

Show HN: GridTravel – A community based travel app for users to share routeshttps://www.gridtravel.appHey HN,My co-founders and I have been building GridTravel, a free iOS app for planning and sharing travel routes with turn-by-turn GPS nav. We just launched yesterday after App Store approval. We're three 21-year-old cofounders and best friends since middle school. We built GridTravel after years of frustration navigating new cities on every trip we took together. The idea: most people either search Google for "top 10 places to visit in…" lists or go on social media to get inspiration on where to go. GridTravel is built around user-generated routes — actual paths someone walked, that you can follow, save, download, and discover from other travelers. Users also have the ability to create private routes and collaborate with their friends.Tech stack: Mapbox (Nav SDK + maps), Supabase (auth, DB, storage), and Swift. Native iOS for now, Android coming soon. Our two real cost drivers are Mapbox Search (hit when users create routes) and Mapbox Navigation (hit when users use live navigation). Show HN: Building effective Human-AI hybrid decision-making ecosystemhttps://galdren.com/lgd/I'm running an experiment to discover ways to move AI agents from "instruction followers" to "process owners". Most agents fail when a task requires evolving intuition or persistent, multi-day workflows. The core of this experiment is a collaborative "do-and-learn" loop where the agent executes a proven, high-stakes lead generation methodology, and the human provides the "judgment" layer. This is an ambitious experiment exploring a few points:Judgment vs. Execution: Humans learn good judgment through direct experience, failures, and working through problems. If we offload the doing to an agent, how do we build human-level judgment in the loop? Recursive Skill Building: Moving beyond simple Chain-of-Thought or generic skills. Can an agent document, refine, and store their own processes as they execute based on feedback? Training via Methodology: Using a proven, multi-million dollar revenue lead-generation methodology as the training data to see if an agent can move from instruction-followMay 13, 2026 9:19 PM

Show HN: Display.dev, agent-native way to publish HTML or MD behind company authhttps://display.dev/Last week's post from Thariq "The Unreasonable Effectiveness of HTML" went viral in X. He made a good point about HTML being the more expressive and human friendly alternative to markdown files. I completely buy in where he's coming from, I've been asking Claude Code to create me HTML files to better understand what we're planning and building together. What Thariq didn't address was the part of sharing and collaborating on these HTML artifacts (he proposed uploading to S3). While I've been heavy user of HTML artifacts to share quarterly plans, implementation specs, technical guides and more, it has been a challenge of sharing them with my teammates securely. Not all people in the company have GitHub access to see the markdown file. Slack and Google Drive don't render HTML.There's been no good solution today on the market, until now, which gives you tools for your agent to publish the HTML and MD files, gate the artifacts behind company SSO or OTP and collaborate with your teammates on May 12, 2026 11:36 PM

Ask HN: What's your experience with AI in hiring?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48111921"AI-native hiring" is just faster keyword/vector matching. Every atomic hiring step such as filtering applicants, moving to different stages involves, we will be dealing with 100s of judgement parameters before we take any action forward. What are we offloading to AI today? - just admin tasks or human judgements?- Sourcing and filtering are intensive human judgements operations. - Accepting applications, managing, organising, collaborating, outreach are most time admin consuming tasks in hiring pipeline.Simple ATS sass automates most of these things. AI is a great tool, but before fitting into hiring user flows where judgements >>> automations, we need to resolve on fundamental principle, AI-augmented judgment or AI-replaced judgment? Which you think is actually working well today for HR professionals? Has AI helped, or just added noise?May 12, 2026 6:04 PM

Copilot "auto-pilot" system instructions making models worsthttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48096339I use copilot for work, and I have this fight with models all the time because the model has an urgency to get things done,Sometimes I need to explain an issue, elaborate on the constraints, ask the model to research what's going on but I have to fight the model NON STOP to not start writing code... the solution is not to make the code pass where it's broken "fixing" all the unit test to now pass where they fail after the "fix"...To provide the context so a good solution is done and taking into consideration EVERYTHING THAT needs to be done I need to "have a talk" with the model so I can present all the things to consider...Today reading the output I got the two pieces below... first... this totally breaks the model for anything serious.. Why are you pushing the model to do something when I want it to do something else? I'M PAYING FOR IT,But now in the middle of this RANT I notice the model mention that the "Auto pilot" mode is actually pressuring it to assume things and move on to comMay 11, 2026 3:30 PM
