Show HN: An API for human-powered browser taskshttps://browser-work.com/At APM Help, we have a large team that performs repetitive, browser-based tasks. Years ago, to manage this work securely and get a clear audit trail, we built an internal platform we call "Hub." It's essentially a locked-down environment where our team works that records their sessions, tracks every interaction, and prevents data from being copied or shared. It's been our internal source of truth for years.More recently, like many companies, we've been building more automation. And like everyone else, we've seen our automations fail on edge cases—a weirdly formatted invoice our parser can't read, a website layout change that breaks a scraper, etc. Our team would have to manually step in to fix these. We realized other developers must have this exact same problem, but without a 250-person team on standby. So we connected our old, battle-tested Hub to a new, modern front door: a Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) API. We're calling it browser-work.com.The idea is simple: when you hit a task that neJul 21, 2025 4:16 PM

Airbnb has locked payment on my account for 8 weeks and still no follow-up emailhttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44424041A little before mid-May I opened Airbnb, as I’ve done hundreds of times over the past decade, to secure a house for an important summer event with friends. I clicked “Book,” waited for the familiar animation… and the payment failed. No big deal, I thought. I switched to another card. Same red banner. I tried my balance of gift credits. No luck. Over the next hour I repeated the ritual from three different devices—laptop, phone, even an old tablet—using cards issued while living and working all around Europe, both Americas, the Middle East. Every attempt ended the same way: an error, no explanation. For the first time in ten years of globe-trotting stays—rooftops in Lisbon, cabins in Patagonia, canal apartments in Amsterdam, lofts in San Francisco, studios in Dubai—Airbnb slammed a door in my face.So began my long walk through support. The chat agent was polite and assured me a “specialist” would email me. Days passed, and no email came. I tried again and again. Each new thread ended with Jun 30, 2025 2:48 PM

Show HN: Mindfuse – A voice-only app for anonymous 1-on-1 conversationshttps://mindfuse.io/Hey HN,I built Mindfuse because I missed having real conversations online. It’s a simple concept: You press a button and get matched with someone, anonymously, for a voice-only conversation. No usernames, no profiles, no feeds. Just two people talking. The goal is to create quiet, meaningful spaces in a noisy, performative internet. It’s live on iOS now. Still early — small user base, no monetization, just people talking.Happy to answer any questions or feedback. I’d especially love to hear from anyone building in the audio/social space or interested in digital minimalism, mindful tech, or mental health. Thanks for reading.Jun 24, 2025 1:06 PM

Show HN: Cutmuse – AI tool for haircut recommendations by face shapehttps://www.cutmuse.com/Hi HN,A few months ago, I started building Cutmuse after hearing the same thing over and over from friends and family:“I never know what haircut suits me.”The idea was to create a tool that uses AI and facial analysis to recommend personalized haircuts, hair colors, and even glasses based on each user’s unique features. You upload a photo (no login required or payment for the free version), and within minutes get a custom style report that includes:Haircuts that fit your face shapeHair color suggestions based on your skin toneEyewear styles that match your proportionsAnd optional grooming/skincare tipsThis isn't like Instagram filters or beauty apps that overlay random looks. What makes Cutmuse different is the depth of the analysis. It applies real visagism principles — a method used in professional image consulting — combined with facial landmark detection and color analysis to give you results that are not just aesthetic, but structured. We're currently live with users in 10+ countrieJun 22, 2025 4:56 AM

Show HN: MyLineArts – Turn Photos into Bobbie Goods-Style Line Art for Paintinghttps://mylinearts.comHey HN, I built MyLineArts (mylinearts.com) for anyone who wants to paint their own art but needs a clean, inspiring starting point. It’s a simple web app that takes any photo you upload—your kid’s drawing, a family portrait, a cool landscape—and transforms it into a minimalist, Bobbie Goods-style line art outline, ready for you to paint or color by hand.I love the flowing, single-line vibe of Bobbie Goods but found it tricky to create those outlines without pro-level art skills. MyLineArts does the work for you: upload a photo, adjust line style or detail if you like, and download a crisp PNG outline in seconds. It’s about giving you a canvas to make something uniquely yours with paints, markers, or crayons. You can:Turn your child’s sketch into a paintable masterpieceConvert a favorite photo into a fun coloring projectDownload a PNG ready to print and paintI’ve been tweaking this for months and finally got it ready to share. Try it at mylinearts.com and let me know what you think! CurJun 21, 2025 1:03 PM

How to get my ECG data?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44294050I wore a heart monitor for a month and want the data. I've called and exchanged email with "Bio Telemetry, a Phillips company", and all I've received is a stack of paper with a "Daily Patient Report" for each day. (Well I've also received a statement from BCBS saying that they won't pay Bio Telemetry $9,000). My first/primary question to HN is:Do you have advice on how to get the actual data?My second question for non-US readers:Does $9,000 seem excessive? Background: For 10 minutes in April I was seeing double. Fearing that it was a transient ischemic attack, MDs ordered lots of tests. The heart monitor was to check for arrhythmias that could cause a clot. I was surprised that the study found ventricular tachycardia; see: https://www.fraserphysics.com/page2_ecg_report.pdfCoincidentally, I have been thinking about ECGs and have written code for analyzing them; see Section 6.3.1 of my book at https://www.fraserphysics.com/book.pdf. My third question is for anyone who knows about ECG analJun 16, 2025 10:41 PM

Launch HN: BitBoard (YC P25) – AI agents for healthcare back-officeshttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44237769Hi HN! We’re Connor and Ambar, and we’re working on BitBoard (https://bitboard.work). We build AI agents that handle repetitive administrative tasks in healthcare clinics like filling out intake forms, prepping charts, or managing referrals. We were early employees at Forward, which provided primary care across the US. To scale this, we relied on thousands of remote contractors to do repetitive administrative work like reconciling patient records, and scheduling follow-ups based on care plans. It was a huge bottleneck—expensive, error-prone, and always pulling attention away from clinical care. Our software solutions were always too brittle, never managing to handle the variance of clinical data we oversaw.AI, when applied well, is capable of performing a lot of the tasks we manually did. So we decided to take another crack at the problem by building today what we would have liked to have back then, and to help clinics use it.Clinics send us their SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures—forJun 10, 2025 3:09 PM

Show HN: Outlier, a new daily word gamehttps://outlier.land/Hello HN,If you love daily word games like the Crossword, Connections, or Wordle, you might enjoy Outlier. The game explores relationships between words-- while RED is of course a color, it is also a baseball player in Cincinnati, a Taylor Swift album, and a River on the Texas border (to name a few).Ex:Super Mail Slender Aqua Sand Boogey Hail Hit GentleWhile Gentleman, Superman, and Hitman are all real words/concepts, Hailman is not. HAIL is the Outlier. The Outlier then becomes a member of the set for the following. The next round might then cover Meteoroligical Phenomena, or archaic greetings (Hail Caesar) or words to indicate where someone is from ("she hails from Ohio").Open to all feedback! Trying to decide if the current time penalty should be increased to encourage more methodical play. I'm also posting daily clues on IG @ outlier.land. Thanks!May 30, 2025 2:15 PM
