Tell HN: Meta's AI support feature allows Instagram accounts to be stolenIf the AI support option is enabled for your Instagram account (it appears to be A/B tested for only a percentage of accounts), anyone can hijack it with little effort. Simply get on a proxy or VPN close to the account's region, then ask the agent to send a code to an arbitrary email address. Once you receive the code, pass it forward to the agent, and it'll provide you with a password reset link which you can then use to sign into the account.Posting here for any Meta employees who may be reading. This flaw has been around for at least a few days and has been used to hijack over 100 high-value Instagram accounts. The correct patch would be to disable the AI support feature entirely for the time being until this is sorted and revert accounts and usernames that have been hijacked over the last few days. This is a pretty important flaw and it's currently being exploited in blackhat circles. The steps above are public knowledge in these circles and can be found trivially on Telegram.Edit:

Show HN: Deliberate – log what your agent rejected, not just what it ranI'm building Deliberate in response to the PocketOS incident in April and the DataTalks.Club incident in February. Jer Crane could see the API call that deleted his prod volume. He couldn't see that the agent had other options and picked the worst one. Trace tools show you what ran. I wanted something that shows you what the agent was choosing between. Early access for teams running LangGraph or OpenAI Agents in prod.

Ask HN: Corporate Disconnect Between "Tokenmaxxing" and Token OptimizationAbout 6 months ago I joined a new team within a top ten F500 company. My new boss strictly mandated AI use with the key principle being: "You shouldn't be manually writing any code".Since then its been all agents, skills, MCP, harnesses, custom in-house frameworks, and running Opus 4.7 high non-stop.Now at a company level, there are "encouraged attendance" workshops getting scheduled to learn how to optimize one's token use now that API pricing is becoming the norm at an enterprise level. The direction I got from my direct leadership was very direct. AI / agents lead everything and the expectation is the team moves as quickly as it has. But the truth is most engineers candidly acknowledge: we don't fully understand anything. Especially because agents are also churning out the content of architectural documentation and user story requirements and acceptance criteria.I feel like this is a situation where I am directly responsible for the non-deterministic output of these tools. The soluti

Show HN: I built a native project management app that respects your privacyHello HN!I wanted to show you the project management app that I've been building for the past 2 years: Milestones! It's completely native and works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.It doesn't need an account, it's local-first, with optional iCloud Sync that can be turned on in settings. iCloud Sync means that your data can be synced but still stays private, as it syncs to your own iCloud account. Additionally, analytics and crash reports are opt-in and you're asked before any data is sent to any analytics server.I built this app for myself, since I am handling multiple projects constantly, but wanted a way to manage them without having to use bloated, complex tools, plus I needed a way to divide tasks into "phases" or milestones (e.g. App versions). It's free to download and has a generous free-tier, the pro version comes with a monthly, yearly or lifetime option and is mainly for power-users. I also just released an MCP Server for the Mac version.I'd love for you all to try it and tell me what
