For example in case of draught based hunger, rising sea levels because of climate change, oil tanker spill etc.Especially in case of climate change, where consequences come relatively slowly.Context: I read developed countries are helping but they do not have a sense of urgency as it is happening far away. In other words"out of sight, out of mind".Humans mostly agree on what constituts suffering and pain while there are many definitions of happiness.I am thinking that in very simplified terms, emotions are "weights" to data in our neurophysiology. The senior team have development and QA background with good skill and experience, done >20 finished projects for both start-ups and enterprises. Those are to say that we do have the skills and experience on getting things done and get the bucks.I did most of the DevOps for the company, and I did get the job done, as in, project A requires an AWS setup with K8s, Lambda, CI/CD,... , I can setup that, no big problem with help from Google. So, in the middle of last year, I got promoted from Senior Full-Stack Engineer to Senior DevOps Engineer, Head of Operations (with operations are everything outside of dev and test).I've been struggling since then, as the only DevOps guy in the company and no experience/mentor in this role, I don't really know what to do. The visa was denied on the grounds that I did not have a college degree at the time. My salary was going to be >55k and I was told that, as a programmer, I wouldn't need a degree and would be fast tracked.Fast forward a few years, I got my degree and accepted another job with a >65k salary. Again, I requested the work visa. Again, it was rejected. This time on the grounds that I didn't submit proof that I was at B1 level in... English. Yes, that's right. English.
