Show HN: Epho – run Claude Code with a curlhttps://epho.ioHey folks, Burak here.Epho is an API that allows running Claude Code, Codex or Opencode in a sandbox in the cloud. It abstracts away sandboxes, and allows running coding agents with a single HTTP request.Epho came out of our own struggles with building our own AI analyst: - Sandboxes give you bare machines; you need to configure them for agentic workloads. - Each agent behaves differently, and you need to build integrations with each of them. - Sandbox providers are not very reliable, which means you need to figure out a multi-provider strategy to avoid failures. - Logging, artifacts, input/output, event streaming, and all of the other operational aspects need to be figured out.We had to go through the pain ourselves. We got to a point where things got quite reliable, and it became more obvious to us that this should be a primitive on its own: send a POST request, get the events streaming back to you.Epho is an agents-as-an-API product: you send a request, it spins up a sandbox, configAug 20, 2026 3:45 PM

Show HN: Bisecto – A minimalist game about cutting shapes into 50/50 halveshttps://bisecto.com/Hey HN,I built Bisecto (https://bisecto.com), a minimalist browser game with one simple mechanic, cutting (bisecting) a procedural 2D shape into two exact 50/50 halves with a single straight line.Confession: I got completely hooked watching those viral reels of people trying to cut fruits and vegetables into perfectly equal halves, and that was my inspiration for this game :D I've been writing code for 12+ years, but for this project I leaned heavily on LLMs to quickly spin up this game, I thought it's going to be quick, but it took me some time (around 2 weeks) to make the game the way I want it to be.A few game modes to try: - Classic: Endless run, you get to choose difficulty and line cutting mode- Arcade mode: You get 3 lives, you have to keep accuracy above 95%.- Daily challenge: A shared daily seed, 10 identical shapes for everyone, see how you rank.- Friends challenges: Create a challenge and send it to your friends and see who is better at cutting shapes in half.Under the hood:Aug 20, 2026 2:15 PM

Show HN: Omacosy – Omarchy-style tiling desktop for macOS, no SIPhttps://github.com/paulsp94/omacosyI have been using omarchy on my tower since nearly a year now, shortly after it was released first. I really love the experience I am having with it but I still use my macbook for daly work, so I wanted to recreate a similar experience on it. Thats why I created omacosy, a setup for tiling windows, custom menu bar, some themes from omarchy, focus follows mouse, focus rings around windwos, some mac flavors with trackpad events and a custom mission control overview for your workspaces.I used AeroSpace over yabai for the tiling window manager because I didnt wanted to compromise on SIP which is a mac security feature. It is supposed to be keyboard first like omarchy to move windows organize workspaces etc The setup runs around 157mb of ram and consists of AeroSpace, Karabiner (for the super key), and five small self build swift binaries.I am running it daily on my M1 max macbook, currently on macOS26. I havent tested it much on other macbooks or macOS versions. The install script creates Aug 20, 2026 2:12 PM

Is this AWS RI/SP simulation engine interesting / valuable?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49374412TLDR; This AWS RI/SP tool we built might have unique features that are important especially for companies running large, high-variability workloads with high coverage targets. We want feedback on how true that is and whether we should open this up to others, possibly even for free or as OSS.Setup: We're a small cloud cost consultancy, but not a tools vendor. We do build a lot of internal tooling for our own use. We serve companies spending 7- to 9-figures (USD) annually. One of the internal tools we built over the past several years is a simulation engine for RIs/SPs that can do a number of things, some of which we believe might be one-of-a-kind in the space today and could be valuable to others.1.) Visualize the entire commitment savings/discount curve for any commitment type (any RI, any SP, of any flavor), showing the exact savings achieved and the marginal discount rate at every level of commitment. This unlocks what we feel is the best purchasing strategy: "buy SP dollars or RI uniAug 20, 2026 1:36 PM

Show HN: Markdown Buddy – Native macOS Markdown Editor with Quick Look and Xcodehttps://markdownbuddy.inawa.app/I write a lot of project documentation in Markdown, and two things kept annoying me on macOS: Quick Look shows .md files as raw text, and Xcode shows a README as plain source. So I built the app I wanted. Swift and AppKit, 4.8 MB, sandboxed. The editor is a plain NSTextView. The rendered view is WKWebView, so it uses the system engine rather than a bundled browser, which is where the size difference comes from. Quick Look and Finder thumbnails are separate app extensions sharing the same renderer.Beyond preview: open a folder as a workspace and browse every .md in a tree, search across all of them, and see a graph of the links between documents with broken ones flagged. An Xcode Source Editor extension opens the file you are looking at, rendered, from the Editor menu. One implementation detail I found non-obvious. The live preview restyles the NSTextStorage as you type. The hard rule is that it must never touch attributes while an input method is composing, or Japanese, Chinese and KoreAug 20, 2026 1:08 PM

I managed to get something quite useable and probably useless to most people shipped. If you enjoy maps, military, strategy etc, hopefully it is of interest to you.Aug 20, 2026 12:59 PM

Show HN: An attempt to do a healthy screentime app for toddlershttps://tadidum.com/hello, I am an indie-dev and I recently made an app for my 2y old. I am in the camp that avoids screentime as much as possible, but I also feel that she gets curious with these things that are in our hands all the time, so a complete ban is not possible. anyway we show her family photos, and grandparents do video calls.. so she's well aware that it is an interesting toy.As she turned 2, she started demanding the phone to fiddle with it on her own. and the terrible twos are a thing, so we've never been able to just say no and expect her to move on. sometimes the tantrum she threw was such a pain to deal with that we started to think about ways. Tried parental control to lock the phone. But it was annoying when she would take a 100 useless photos. and on the gallery she can come close to deleting stuff. It got me thinking and I ended up making an app that resembled a phone. It has a camera, dialer, gallery, and some mini-apps which are designed in a way to avoid any dopamine inducing pattAug 20, 2026 8:27 AM

Show HN: Do-over, undo for AI agent shell commandshttps://github.com/CaydenChik/dooverHello HN,I built this after a coding agent deleted my files while tidying a project. Do-over plugs into Claude Code's hooks and snapshots what a command is about to touch right before it runs.I know what you're thinking. Why don't you just commit more often? This tool doesn't seek to replace git. What it does is: [1] Protect the stuff git doesn't protect: your untracked/ignored files and files that exist outside your repo (which is how a guy lost 50GB of data - Claude code issue tracker) [2] Protects you when git itself is weaponized by your agent: git checkout ., git clean -fd, and git reset --hard (a three year old Unity project was deleted this way - Claude Code issue tracker) [3] Protects you in the case when you're just forgetful and don't commitIt really is a simple safeguard to potential headaches. And it's a last mile effort that secures what current measures can't. That includes sandboxes, checkpoints, git.Aug 20, 2026 6:42 AM
