The platform took around 6 months to be fully featured (and tested, and security scanned.. many times over). I’ve been working in information security for over 20 years, and even if it sounds redundant, I always found major SIEM providers to 1, be insanely expensive and 2, often have issues (outages, inability to scale properly and still have strong capabilities / fast searches).Around December (2025), I started down the path of creating nano, at first I was reading about some research around some new extensions released for Postgres (I’ve been using it for over a decade for various projects, so I was intrigued). So, I started creating the SIEM, I got about a week into it and realized even with the new extensions, Postgres will just not scale for SIEM-like workloads (I already knew this overall for standard psql, but the extensions added some really cool keyword concepts for speed). My coding experience was 30 years back. I was a radar designer and I spent years making software for simulating propagation of electromagnetic waves. I even got a scientific prize for it. I followed the tutorial on the Godot website and I was hooked.I did not have a plan for the game. It grew organically. However I had a vision: with Earth's resources getting scarcer, Humanity will have to go beyond Earth and even beyond our own solar system in order to mine for resources. It will face celestial dangers, probably aliens, and also bad humans, ie, Pirates. It started with a single astronaut collecting gold ore. Then of course I added mining robots. For fun, I added meteor storms, and a laser gun to shatter the meteors. Then I designed villains as pirates, so it made sense to develop autonomous robot guns, sort of spatial war drones. Still deciding on open-sourcing the project.The problem: Most park management software was built 10+ years ago, designed for enterprise procurement, not for the receptionist or park manager who might not need all the bells and whistles. A 50-unit holiday park ends up paying €15K-70K/year across their PMS, channel manager, payment processing, owner portal, guest app, accounting integrations, and the manual labor of making it all work together. Small parks just eat the cost or cobble together spreadsheets.
