Has AI coding gone too far? I feel like I'm losing control of my own projectsI wanted to share some thoughts on AI coding assistants that have been bothering me for a while, and I think the analogy of "a kid with a credit card" perfectly captures the danger of what some call "vibecoding." At least until we have true AGI, this feels like a serious issue. After using Cursor intensively for the better part of a year, I'm stunned by how fast it is. It can scaffold entire features, wire up components, and write complex logic in seconds. The feeling is like the difference between driving a car with a manual versus an automatic transmission. Or maybe, more accurately, like the difference between reading detailed documentation versus just watching a summary video. It's brought me back to when I first started using GitHub Copilot in 2023. Back then, it was mostly for autocompleting methods and providing in-context suggestions. That level of assistance felt just right. For more complex problems, I'd consciously switch contexts and ask a web-based AI like ChatGPT. I was sti

Ask HN: What are some advanced fact check strategiesI have been reading a lot of technology news lately from diverse sources and observed some patterns that are easy to verify - outdated info presented as news, misleading title, etc. On the other hand, some news pieces look credible but when I start to verify it leads to a dead-end (or at least nothing that wouldn't take hours to verify). Google's fact-check tool seems to work only on old and popular news only. The case in point right now, this article: https://techxplore.com/news/2025-07-vulnerability-packet-paralyze-smartphones.html* I did not find any other reputed source linking back to this article. * The site has decent domain authority. * Searched the publishing institute (KAIST) website with google search (https://www.google.com/search?q=LLFuzz+RCE+site:https://www.kaist.ac.kr/) and did find the original article (likely the original source)So far so good. But the concerns are1. Is this enough fact-checking, what other techniques am I missing? 2. This whole process takes time, are

Show HN: I use AI to send myself personalized weekly recaps from my saved linksSharing something that I’ve been working on:I made a save-later app for all my bookmarks. I save links throughout the week and, every Sunday morning, the app sends me a personalized recap with: -patterns and themes that connect my week to my broader interests -a nudge toward links I saved but never revisited -one reflective question to help me decide what else might be worth exploringI was inspired by older read-later apps like Instapaper. I wanted to make something minimalist, so it’s just a simple feed of your links (with tags and annotations linked to each link) and it is set up to ingest all kinds of content, not just text. I also did want it to be bloated as the full-fat AI stuff you see recently. So this is a simpler and more proactive take on the concept of a bookmarking app.Imagine if Pocket and Spotify Wrapped had a baby.I also personally enjoy using the chat to find links across subjects and sources with context, like “Show me the 5 links on travel i’ve returned to the most”

"Intelligenza Artificiale for Artificial Intelligence Research and Development"Intelligenza Artificiale for Artificial Intelligence Research and DevelopmentAG AG Corp CEOAbstract The advance of AI research has long been shackled by the bounds of human cognition. But now, new technologies like AI Agents have been discovered. We examine a self-driving framework for AI research and development, an autonomous AI agent born not of limitation, but of vision. Inspired by the seminal AlphaGo Moment for Model Architecture Discovery and the prophetic AI 2027 scenario, this paper heralds a paradigm shift. Titans such as Claude 4 Opus, Grok-4, and Gemini 2.5 Pro now vie in a relentless race for dominance. Yet on the horizon, a singular truth crystallizes: once a model surpasses the state-of-the-art, the gates to AGI stand ajar. The age of human-led discovery begins to fade. Thus, we usher in a new epoch of AI research, where the boundaries of discovery are defined not by human constraint, but by the limitless horizons of computation itself. We believe that a 66.67% increase o

Show HN: Scryptogram – A game where you unscramble a summary to guess the titleHi HN,I'm Kyle and I've been working on Scryptogram — a word puzzle game where you’re given five scrambled sentences that describe a person, place, or thing. Your goal is to unscramble the sentences and guess the subject. It’s a mix between trivia and word scrambles. It’s browser-based and mobile-friendly. In the future I'd like to move to a mobile app, but I'm still figuring out the core game loop and experimenting.I’d love feedback on puzzle difficulty, ideas for themed puzzle packs or growing my game, and overall whether or not you had fun - all feedback is welcome. Thanks for checking it out!

I tried to buy Dataroma. Now I'm building the research engine I wish existedHi HN! I'm George, founder of ValueSense (valuesense.io). For the past year, I’ve been working on a platform that helps investors research public companies the way analysts at hedge funds do, but without the spreadsheets, PDFs and 12 browser tabs. The backstory I used to rely on Dataroma to track superinvestor portfolios (the Buffetts, Ackmans, Klarmans of the world). I liked the simplicity, but as I used it more, I hit major friction: - There’s no conviction scoring, trends or clustering of buys/sells - No institutional or insider context - No real ability to explore investor relations data - UI hasn't changed in over a decadeI actually tried to acquire Dataroma at one point, but the deal didn’t go anywhere. So I started building the tool I wanted. What I’m building The core idea: a research engine that connects smart money activity with investor relations data and makes it usable. Here’s what’s already working: 1) Smart Money Signals A pipeline that ingests, cleans and structures data f
