Show HN: Circus Chief – Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini from Your Phonehttps://github.com/ferrislucas/Circus-ChiefHi HN,Circus Chief is a tool for managing coding agent sessions from a browser. It's specifically optimized for small screens. It supports Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and Google Gemini CLI agents.FeaturesAgents can operate Circus Chief itself. Agents can spawn sessions, schedule sessions, interact with the Kanban board — anything you can do in the UI, an agent can also do.Schedule work ahead of time.Automatically reschedule when you hit usage limits.Configurable, chainable prompt templates.User-defined commands - agents can run them and see the results, and so can you in the UI. Handy for local CI or routine workflow steps.Worktree-per-session isolation, or elect to work on a specific branch.Shared canvas - this is a place for shared artifacts that don't belong in the code. Useful for iterating on planning documents.Bring your own provider. Use subscription auth for Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google, or point sessions at third-party providers with Anthropic- or OpenAI-compatible endpoints.IfJun 2, 2026 1:59 PM

Ask HN: Anyone else seeing serious degradation in DX with Opus 4.8?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48356061As an anthropic fan boy(check my prev. comments), this is the first opus release where I feel like the model is just not pleasant to talk to not to mention untrustworthy. The two examples for me where I lost confidence in it is once where it started with 2 random echo commands: https://snipboard.io/tpqfP2.jpg Another where I asked it to create a new landing page and it just deleted an existing app page as a replacement.I'm not exactly sure if this is a harness problem with the claude code updates(maybe system prompt changed) or if its just the model itself that has gotten too "safety-pilled" as I've been seeing similar opinions where devs are complaining about the fact that the model seems to distrust the user's intentions.Either way, this is the first model release where I've downgraded to previous model since I was already pretty happy with it before. Should make it clear if its a model problem or the harnessJun 1, 2026 12:40 PM

Show HN: Pictolab (online HDR image editor)https://pictolab.io/Source code: http://github.com/anchpop/pictolabI love HDR, but until recently dynamic HDR content was hard to render in the browser. But now, with browsers shipping support for WebGPU and canvases with extended color spaces, it's actually feasible. So what I wanted to was make an image editor capable of doing the simple edits I often need to do, but with full HDR support, which is rare in browser editors. Turning up the brightness on an HDR-capable monitor is a great way to see what your monitor can do :PI tried to go overboard in every way I could. So brightness/saturation/hue adjustments use the okLCH color space, and there's an option to do a "content-aware resize" with seam carving, which is fast because it's parallelized using Sam Westrick's triangle-blocking algorithm [0].Also, the site supports importing HEIC photos as taken with an iPhone, which is surprisingly hard to do correctly. Libraries like libheic don't fully support the format used by iPhones, so if used naively the HDRMay 31, 2026 9:45 PM

Show HN: Monkdev is a toolkit and methodology for coding with LLMshttps://github.com/oeo/monkdevI'm sure many people have some solutions similar to this but I've been using some variation of this since roughly the release of Opus 3 to get higher quality results. Like, significantly higher. So I decided to make it into a more structured package.Problem: bad decisions and short sighted solutions due to the LLM not having enough context before acting. They'd read one file, or a few segments of a set of files using a super conservative offset and limit, guess about the rest, apply a patch, run a unit test and then tell you with its entire chest that the code is production-ready.Those bandaids over time became debt, drift, complexity. Unnecessary LOC in a codebase where I find myself wondering is this thing even making me more efficient or should I be in VIM more often and just save myself the API costs (I use OpenCode + OpenRouter and have been known to blast through hundreds of dollars a day in spend using Frontier models).I found that, for whatever reason, LLMs respond to role-playMay 26, 2026 7:08 PM

HN has the best discussions, Twitter has some, newsletters have some. I used to check 5 places and still felt behind.Building this was fun. I had to face many technical challenges, even though I have used Claude Code to help build I think the decisions I took to mitigate those challenges are interesting and wanted to share with this crowd.1 Fetching: I had to fetch different sources at different rate because fetching some on regular bases didn't make sense. for example, fetching AI labs blogs every few hours does not make sense but May 25, 2026 4:02 PM
