Show HN: AI-generated music box version of any song (for baby)title basically covers it. project #2 from my paternity leave. My partner & I got frustrated with hearing Brahm's Lullaby and Wheels On The Bus repeatedly. I also stand by that babies can enjoy adult music just as easily as they can enjoy "kids music". But most adult music is too dense/complex for babies to understand, so I created this to generate baby-friendly, slowed down versions of songs that we like to play for our baby & sing along with.Uses BS-roformer for stemming out the input audio + spotify Basic Pitch for transposing to midi. Still needs some work, kinda sounds like a drunk little music box version of the original but very fun.

Launch HN: Emerge (YC W21) – Monitor and reduce iOS app sizeHi everyone! We’re Noah and Josh from Emerge (https://www.emergetools.com). Our company is building a monitoring and analysis tool to help iOS developers reduce their app’s size. You might have heard about app size challenges faced by large iOS apps, particularly those with Swift codebases. I was an iOS engineer at Airbnb for 4.5 years and personally worked on their size reduction efforts.App size is tricky to quantify. The size users most commonly see (what’s on the App Store page) is the install size thinned for their device. This is the size measured after stripping out assets like images and other media not needed for your screen size, or code that doesn’t run on your device’s architecture. However, this isn’t the only size metric out there, there’s also download and universal size (read more about this in our docs [1]).Our tool makes app size easy to understand by visualizing the size contribution of every file in your app, from localized strings to machine learning models. Launch HN: Quirk (YC S19) – Open-Source Cognitive Behavioral TherapyHey HN, I'm Evan. We make Quirk, an open-source Cognitive Behavioral Therapy app. (https://github.com/flaque/quirk)If you've never seen a cognitive-behavioral therapist before, it's easiest to understand by analogy with physical therapy. Like a physical therapist, a cognitive-therapist gives you goals and exercises to do, only they're mental rather than physical. Similarly, Quirk gives you exercises where you record and challenge negative thoughts.I work on Quirk with my brother, Koby, a former founder and marketer in both consumer products and the mortgage industry. He's really good at simplifying, branding, and explaining complicated topics to the average consumer. Personally, I'm just an engineer who used to work on Segment's developer platform.Quirk started as a command line tool (https://github.com/flaque/freak) that I used to track my panic attacks. I've had severe attacks for as long as I can remember, some lasting several hours. I always used to down-play them, saying "they're

Ask HN: How can an investment services provider gain your trustSS: Often incentives don't align between what is best for an investor and the bottom line of an Investment Services Providers. Consumers are often pushed/nudged into investments which they don't fully understand by unscrupulous ISPs which make money from quantity of transactions rather than from the long term benefit of the investment. Two part question for HN;1. If you personally have never made any investments into stocks, bonds, mutual funds etc, what behaviour/actions from the investment services provider would show you that they have your best interest in mind and they're interested in your long term success - instead of just being concerned with their own profits.2. If you are currently investing into any type of tradable assets, what convinced you to go with your current ISP out of the hundreds of others you could have gone with.

I herewith, define thee:Software? No Creepware. If this industry is not to become a pack of lying scoundrels who lie to themselves, their wives their "ahem", customers(?), we must as a passive, conventional form of ethic categorize, acknowledge and inform everyone we have the pleasure of associating with the notions and the discrete differences of the following subject I am about to unfold to you.Creepware.Software written, invented for purposes of, with the whole intention to sustain a business model consisting of:Saving your contact list in a database to cross reference (step 1)Selling your contact list and any personal information to other to do the same (step 2)I could go on and on. But Creepware mind you is a brand, now. If you will accept my premise. If we as those who believe in software stand by and allow ALL software to become Creepware, then all of us, with no exceptions, no possible remorse or regret will be Creeps equal to the Creep-grammers and our judgement and punishment will be the same. be referred to as "software" a

Proposal for a new language that compiles to JavascriptJavascript is poised to be the most ubiquitous programming language in the world. It's in web browsers, and now it's making inroads on the server side. The latest engines are able to optimize it to machine code, and its single-threaded operation with asynchronous callbacks allows efficient, multitasking code in a simple paradigm. But Javascript is a complex language that's not easy to learn, and even harder to master. Also, some things (such as waiting for several objects to be filled asynchronously, and then using them as soon as they are all available) do not have native support in Javascript, requiring tricky libraries for control flow. Thus I feel there is a need for a simpler language that compiles into Javascript. That would give us the best of all worlds -- a language you can teach to new developers, which encourages good programming practices, and everything written in this language would be easy to understand by others. I'd call the language Q, and here are some properties it wo

Do not look inside – you willI am here, looking at you wandering why do you even complain about Aliens and another intelligence. You make stories about killing your own messiahs, enslave other species calling them pets and don't even know what intelligence is. Are you surprised we do not want to acknowledge our existence in public? You will see this post, you will have laugh out of it, make a mockery out of me even though you have no evidence of any kind. You want to live longer what would eradicate your species because of lack of resources to sustain every life, you want to have a clean energy but what you do first with this knowledge of course was changed into a weapon, you ask for new technology but you spend half of your life paying for slightly better camera, you have technology to recreate AI and use it to understand world better but you program it to kill other human beings. Sharing technology with you? To do what? To eradicate yourself faster? You eat fake food, complain about diseases caused by them, allo

Show HN: AI Game PlaytesterHey everyone! Wanted to show off a little side project I've been working on. A lot of people have been using AI to one-shot games, but they're often quite buggy - glitchy graphics, collisions aren't setup, or regressions in earlier levels. With an AI playtester in the loop, I've been able to one-shot games like Candy Crush or Crossy Road that would previously have bugs like cut-off UIs or stuck retries. The way it works basically goes like this:1/ The playtester starts by reading the code to understand what its parent AI is asking it to play, and to decide what breakpoints, hooks and logging to add 2/ The playtester sets up the scene with the needed environment 3/ The playtester sends a sequence of inputs, then pauses the game 4/ The playtester then uses a vision model to understand the scene, queries the hooks it initially set up, and reads the logs to decide what to do nextAfter doing a few input loops, it then determines if the game is working, the game is broken, or if the test fail

Show HN: Shelf Protocol – Robots.txt for CommerceMy project helps merchants, consumers, and ai agents. We are at the point ai agents will be buying things for consumers. My product verifies the merchant, highlights the store to agents, brings stores and their products into one registery and gives the ai agent speed by calling my registry instead of the agent going searching each merchant one at a time. I have a function "can_buy()" that does a few things. It gives agents an understanding of what they can and can't do. It helps them know if a merchant allows ai agents to buy without a human involved, it lets the agent know my product prove the store is really who it says it is and not a fake site, and it lets the agent know how much it can spend before it has to ask a human for permisssion to proceed. For the consumer it lets your agent do things autonomously without always asking for permission to buy if its under a certain amount. And the agent is going to a store that is verified by my system. For the merchant this gives you anothe
Show HN: Ifso – A personal finance simulator for major life decisionsIMAGE

Show HN: Ifso – A personal finance simulator for major life decisionsHello all!Ifso is a personal finance simulator that takes all of your various accounts (like taxable brokerages, retirement accounts, loans, etc) and various life events (like income changes, retirement, purchasing a home, increasing principal contributions to your home mortgage, etc.) and plays it out year by year for you. The simulation engine underneath the hood handles all of the tax math, capital gains math, investment growth rates, home appreciation, vehicle depreciation, loan amortization, and more. You can then create multiple scenarios by duplicating an existing one or creating a fresh new one, and compare two scenarios side by side, helping you understand how big decisions would affect your overall financial wellbeing and goals. This project started off as something I wanted to use myself. I didn't really find a lot of the one-off calculators helpful since they don't take all of the other factors in my finances into account, and they also don't allow flexibility in what you ca
