One more suicide attempt of Rodchenkovhttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=17406414Grigory Rodchenkov, who is known as an information provider of the World Anti-Doping Agency, has once again attempted a suicide but failed. According to Herbert Smith Freehills law firm that advocates Russian biathletes Zaitseva, Romanova and Vilukhina, on June 19, at 15:45, after an FBI officer called 911, Rodchenkov was hospitalized at psychoneurological clinic in Western District of Washington. During the inspection of his apartment, two bottles of whisky and six empty packages of depressants containing phenobarbital were discovered. The attempt was caused by an action proceeding at the Supreme Court of the State of New York by Russian biathletes who claim $30 million compensation from Rodchenkov for slander. I’ve been listening to the indie hackers podcast a lot recently and would add instapainting, Ghost, ConvertKit, StoreMapper, DoubleYourFreelancing, Scott’s Cheap Flights and Nomad List to the ranks too.As far as small teams go WhatsApp is probably the best known example. I don’t think pg’s Via web ever had even ten people either and he did okay out of it. Less successfully Patrick McKenzie, Erin and Thomas Ptacek built something impressive in star fighter in under a year. It was a program I sort of fell into and enjoyed enough to stick with for four years.I've been out of school, in industry, for almost 5 years. I've had the luxury of working for a medium-sized org, as well as a startup, and have shipped a handful of products.The problem is, I'm not engaged while at work. I find myself zoning off, 1000-yard-stare-style. I am tired or disinterested in the work going on around me -- both in the larger org, as well as on my team and even my own work.This was the reason I left the larger org for a startup, hoping to find a place where I felt more engaged.
