Show HN: WanVideo – Wan 2.2 AI Video Generationhttps://www.wanvideo.tvHey HN! I built WanVideo (wanvideo.tv) to make the powerful Wan 2.2 video generation model accessible to everyone.## What is Wan 2.2?Wan 2.2 is an advanced AI video generation model that uses an optimized MoE (Mixture of Experts) architecture to create professional-quality videos. Key capabilities:- *Cinema-Grade Aesthetics*: Professional lighting, smooth camera movements, and cinematic effects without any filming equipment - *Natural Motion Dynamics*: Realistic human movements, accurate physics simulation, and believable character expressions - *Multi-Modal Input*: Generate from text descriptions or animate existing images - *Lightning Fast*: 5-10 minute generation (vs hours with other models)## Why We Chose Wan 2.2After testing multiple video generation models, Wan 2.2 stood out for its balance of quality and efficiency. The MoE architecture allows it to specialize different aspects of video generation (motion, lighting, scene composition) while maintaining fast inference times.## TeAug 1, 2025 9:29 AM

Show HN: I Recently Built a Projecthttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44580930I recently built a project called PIT (Phono In Terminal) — a terminal image viewer written in C that renders .png/.jpg images using actual RGB colors in your terminal (with optional 256-color fallback). What makes it different? Zero dependencies (just stb_image.h)Works even on very old or embedded systemsFully cross-platform (Linux, macOS, WSL, Windows Terminal, Termux, etc.)Compiles down to ~250 KBCLI options for zoom, flip, resize, offset, background fill, and moreDoesn’t require X11, SDL, or cursesHere's a screenshot from Termux showing Tux inside a text-mode terminal (demoed using ANSI blocks and real RGB shading): (HN doesn't support images, but you can try it yourself from the repo)Comparison with tiv: tiv is an excellent and mature tool (C++ + ImageMagick), optimized for Unicode and quality. PIT, on the other hand, is hyper-minimal — no dependencies, fully embeddable, and runs even in initramfs or micro distros.GitHub: https://github.com/Ferki-git-creator/phono-in-terminal-imagJul 16, 2025 11:17 AM

Epistemological Primeshttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44521212I am on a quest for the epistemological primes. These are the deep foundational knowledges which underpin everything. Somehow relates to that "high-leverage generalist" concept, but it's like the next level above that. We're talking level 3 jack of all trades here. The epistemological primes of mathematics might be logic, set theory, category theory, model theory, graph theory, and a few others. Things that can't be reduced any further; their own whole ways of thinking. These primes exist in everything. Doing drugs (the way I do them) involves knowledge of chemistry, thermodynamics, and cognitive psychology. Cooking also involves chemistry and thermodynamics, and the knowledge of "flavor profiles" (which cores does that come from?). Doing projects involves some kind of "how to work" prime."Physics" is not a prime, but kinematics probably is a prime. It's hard to figure some of them out. Demographics feels prime, but is probably actually a few things mashed together. Same for metrology, phJul 10, 2025 2:00 PM

How to get my ECG data?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44294050I wore a heart monitor for a month and want the data. I've called and exchanged email with "Bio Telemetry, a Phillips company", and all I've received is a stack of paper with a "Daily Patient Report" for each day. (Well I've also received a statement from BCBS saying that they won't pay Bio Telemetry $9,000). My first/primary question to HN is:Do you have advice on how to get the actual data?My second question for non-US readers:Does $9,000 seem excessive? Background: For 10 minutes in April I was seeing double. Fearing that it was a transient ischemic attack, MDs ordered lots of tests. The heart monitor was to check for arrhythmias that could cause a clot. I was surprised that the study found ventricular tachycardia; see: https://www.fraserphysics.com/page2_ecg_report.pdfCoincidentally, I have been thinking about ECGs and have written code for analyzing them; see Section 6.3.1 of my book at https://www.fraserphysics.com/book.pdf. My third question is for anyone who knows about ECG analJun 16, 2025 10:41 PM

Show HN: A Liquid Glass UI Generator for Web (not just basic glassmorphism)https://glass.danilofiumi.it/Hey HN!I just built Liquid Glassifier: a tool that brings Apple’s new Liquid Glass aesthetic (introduced in iOS 26) to the web, with simplicity and actual depth.I’m not a designer, but I do appreciate when things look and feel right and Liquid Glass... It’s just cool.Lately, I’ve seen "Liquid Glass" thrown around online, but most of it ends up being just the usual glassmorphism — frosted blurs, translucent layers, and surface-level mimicry. It might look like glass at a glance, but it doesn’t feel like it. It’s static, shallow, and boring.Apple’s take is something different: It moves, adapts, and feels alive and 3D.Liquid Glassifier makes it easy to recreate and export your custom button for the web using a intuitive interface- Realistic refraction using dynamic distortion (May not fully work in Safari due limited support to backdrop-filter and SVG filter) - Works in both dark and light scenarios, with smart contrast options - Ships as a Web Component — plug it into any React, Vue, or Jun 15, 2025 4:23 PM

Show HN: Laser-Tracer, programmable virtual volumetric vector displayhttps://westoncb.github.io/laser-tracer/This was an idea I had 7yrs ago that I recently decided to go ahead and build since by working with LLMs (mostly o3 and Gemini 2.5 pro) it seemed doable in reasonable time. The original motivation was partly aesthetic, but mostly that this was the ideal "language" for me to express arbitrary 3d forms through. I wanted something with zero boilerplate that would be a natural fit for algorithmic expression. For me, writing programs that say how to move a "pen" around in 3d space was more intuitive than e.g. writing pixel shaders. The format is inspired by Logo/Turtle, and somewhat mimics how a 3d printer works in that Laser-Tracer programs are G-Code like: the fundamental operation is depositing points; from there we get 'traces' specified by either relative (pen.traceBy(x,y,z)) or absolute destinations (pen.traceTo(x,y,z)). And built on top of traces are 'macros' for doing things like drawing text or sweeping polygons. When deposits are made by the 'pen,' it emits additively blended particlJun 12, 2025 9:28 PM
