Show HN: CrowdRank – live leaderboards for internet argumentshttps://crowdrank.appHi HN. I built CrowdRank, a small web app where people vote through head-to-head matchups and the results become a live leaderboard.Backstory:A few years ago, while I was learning to code, I wanted to build a Tinder-style voting app to rank the funniest characters from The Office. I hit a lot of dead ends, mostly on the frontend, and abandoned it.Now with a bit more technical background i rebuilt the idea as a more general platform. The backend/API is Laravel, and I used AI heavily to help build the frontend because somehow centering a div still finds ways to humble me.What did I end up building?A web based platform for ranking candidates inside different topics. There are no community-created topics yet. For now, I seeded a bunch of debates and used an Elo style ranking system, similar to chess ratings, to build a live leaderboard for each debate. No signup is needed to try it.A few example debates:- who’s actually funny in The Office? (of course)- programming language that sparks the

Show HN: Textual-debugger, a Python TUI debugger with power featureshttps://pypi.org/project/textual-debugger/I'm a vim/command line guy and loved using pudb (https://pypi.org/project/pudb/) as I was learning Python. Gradually my code became more complex and pudb wasn't keeping up; event loops and the threading and multiprocessing modules were problematic.TL;DR: I used Claude Code to write the TUI debugger of my dreams: https://pypi.org/project/textual-debugger/ It's built with textual and debugpy so can do all the things possible you'd would expect with the Debug Adapter Protocol (remote attach, thread/process inspection). And then some!I added a JSON-RPC interface so the debugger can be controlled by external tools (eg an AI agent). I also added the capability to run the debug target in a separate terminal which is handy for debugging applications that make demands on the terminal (like curses / rich / textual apps). Here's a video of that in action: https://youtu.be/121aihjAQ8gScreenshots: - https://github.com/AlDanial/tdb/blob/main/gallery/async_brea... - https://github.com/AlDanial/tdb/blob

Arena AI Model ELO Historyhttps://mayerwin.github.io/AI-Arena-History/Hi HN,I built a live tracker to visualize the lifecycle and performance changes of flagship AI models. We've all experienced the phenomenon where a flagship model feels amazing at launch, but weeks later, it suddenly feels a bit off. I wanted to see if this was just a feeling or a measurable reality, so I built a dashboard to track historical ELO ratings from Arena AI.Instead of a massive spaghetti chart of every single model variant, the logic plots exactly ONE continuous curve per major AI lab. It dynamically tracks their highest-rated flagship model over time, which makes both the sudden generational jumps and the slow performance decays much easier to see. It took quite a lot of iterations to get the chart to look nice on mobile as well. Optional dark mode included. However, I have a specific data blindspot that I'm hoping this community might have insights on.Arena AI largely relies on testing API endpoints. But as we know, consumer chat UIs often layer on heavy system prompts, safe

Ask HN: Are SaaS businesses going to zero?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48130604For at least 15 years, MindBody (booking app for yoga/pilates studios) cost ~$400 AUD/month for basic functionality (there existed cheaper plans but those missed critical features).Today, it goes for $89/month - a 78% price reduction in just a couple of yearsI can only guess this is due to market saturation due to it being relatively low-hanging fruit for startups to nibble at.Such a dramatic fall in price makes me wonder if the end-game is a price war which sees all SaaS prices fall, potentially to $0 for those with low/no switching cost

Show HN: Building effective Human-AI hybrid decision-making ecosystemhttps://galdren.com/lgd/I'm running an experiment to discover ways to move AI agents from "instruction followers" to "process owners". Most agents fail when a task requires evolving intuition or persistent, multi-day workflows. The core of this experiment is a collaborative "do-and-learn" loop where the agent executes a proven, high-stakes lead generation methodology, and the human provides the "judgment" layer. This is an ambitious experiment exploring a few points:Judgment vs. Execution: Humans learn good judgment through direct experience, failures, and working through problems. If we offload the doing to an agent, how do we build human-level judgment in the loop? Recursive Skill Building: Moving beyond simple Chain-of-Thought or generic skills. Can an agent document, refine, and store their own processes as they execute based on feedback? Training via Methodology: Using a proven, multi-million dollar revenue lead-generation methodology as the training data to see if an agent can move from instruction-follow

Thoughts on Claude Code 2.1.139 Agent View and Background Sessionshttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48124057Spent half a day trying Claude Code 2.1.139’s new Agent View and background sessions — useful, but still has quite a few rough edges. The first item in the 2.1.139 changelog released on 2026-05-11 was Added agent view (Research Preview). Interestingly, they even included a dedicated doc link in the changelog this time: https://code.claude.com/docs/en/agent-viewNot sure how many people here have tried it yet. I spent a few hours with it today and found both some really nice ideas and some frustrating issues. Curious to hear other people’s experiences too.1. What is Agent View?Agent View can launch parallel Claude sessions directly, and each session automatically uses a separate git worktree for isolation, so multiple sessions can run in parallel without conflicts. The background sessions are managed by an independent supervisor process. They continue running even if the terminal or Agent View itself is closed. Closing the terminal does NOT stop the background sessions.Checking processes w
