Tell HN: Microsoft Is at It AgainI just had a co-worder share his personal email with me in MS Teams; I copied / pasted that into an email and sent it to my personal email. When I click this email link it attempts to open FN Teams on my person computer so I can actually use it... and trying to copying the email address produces a huge string of nonsense when I paste it into an editor to inspect.I could retype the email carefully because it's still displaying it in the middle of their horseshit link, but I'm not going to do that.Anyway... just another ding in their reputation for me, and if I have any say in it at my company I will strongly push to get off FN Teams now. End of rant...

Show HN: Ecdeos – P2P Web/Native Distributed OS on Entity Core ProtocolHello, I wanted to share an update of the current progress of the Entity System.https://ecdeos.org is one domain in a constellation of peers/sites that is the main project of the Entity System, a Tauri Rust/WASM browser engine and Rust backend built on the Entity Core Protocol. It's primarily a research prototype of a P2P distributed cross-platform userspace operating system. The long-term goal is functional P2P management of devices and applications, scaling from individual use (managing personal devices, apps and servers) to multi-user organizations with internal services/application stacks all the way to internet-scale public or federated P2P networks. Its closest parallels are Plan9, Erlang/BEAM, IPFS, ATProto, Nostr, as well as many other antecedent technologies including Git, HTTP, and other internet protocols. The particular combination of features and focus on "everything is an entity", content-addressed data, full decentralization, and its capability security model gives it a u

I often hear about burnout in this crowd. The reason, as banal as it sounds, is that these people have nothing in their lives except work. The brain stops seeing the point in the process because life doesn't change based on the effort you put in. You're sitting and coding just like you were a year ago. Nothing to remember, no relationships, health is falling apart. The main problem with IT specialists is their ego. They transfer their competence from one narrow field to all of life and can't admit to themselves that they don't know something. As a former martial arts coach, I'll say it straight: you won't learn anything new until you admit your own incompetence in the matter. Instead of saving your ego, it's worth making an adult decision and trying to develop your lagging areas. Fortunately, you have the financial means to do so. If anyone is interested in trying to change their life and develop "soft"
