I wanted something different: drop a CSS class on any HTML element and get cinematic motion that's ready for a product video, entirely in the browser. AliveUI Video Blocks is a set of CSS utility classes for common video UI primitives: animated metric cards, toast notifications, typewriter text, kinetic typography, lower thirds, scene backgrounds (aurora, starfield, bokeh), device frames, 3D effects, and particle FX. The interesting technical bit: there's no render pipeline. Animations run as native CSS keyframes. A small runtime (~2KB) handles declarative scene sequencing via data attributes, restarts animations on scene activation via an offsetHeight reflow trick, and drives CSS transition classes between scenes. From the onset of this endeavor until today it has just been me, my laptop, and my ideas I learned how systems work through trial and error, and I built these platforms because after an exhaustive search I discovered a need. I am fully aware that a 54 year old fantasy novelist with no formal training creating one experimental platform, let alone three, in his kitchen, on a commercial grade Dell stretches credulity to the limits (or beyond). But I am hoping that my work speaks for itself. Although admittedly, it might speak to my insane bullheadedness and unwillingness to give up on an idea. So, if you are thinking I am delusional, I allow for that possibility. But I sure as hell hope not. With that said I have released three large software systems that I have been developing privately. My situation outside of work: a genuinely supportive wife, and about 2-3 hours a day I can carve out for learning and building something meaningful. What I've already done — and why it surprised even me Here's the part that feels almost fraudulent to admit: I have already built and deployed real software. Using AI assistance, I built several PWAs and one hybrid mobile app. They're not toy projects — they're actively being used by my wife and her clinic staff in their day-to-day business operations, right now, live. I did this with zero programming knowledge. I can't write a single line of code. I think the term is "vibe coding," and I'm probably the most unqualified vibe coder alive. But the apps I made work. I want to be upfront: the scientific consensus does not support the hypothesis this tests, and I am not claiming otherwise. But the effect size documented in prior literature (Cohen's h ≈ 0.002) is small enough that it cannot be tested in a few sessions, it requires sustained longitudinal data collection. No tool existed for this on a personal device, so I built one. What it does: generates binary sequences from either device CSPRNG (local entropy) or quantum RNG sourced from vacuum fluctuation measurements via Cisco Outshift's API, records six simultaneous environmental sensor channels (magnetometer, barometer, ambient sound, WiFi RSSI, Bluetooth variance), computes z-scores per session and per phase following PEAR's four-phase protocol structure, and stores everything in a local vault for longitudinal analysis.
