I have what I would want to call an amazing idea for an web business. My problem, I have no design experience other that 2 semesters on basic HTML.From my understanding about getting funding, one has to have some sort of model or working demo to present. I am willing to expand my freelance activity in Python web development area now. I have seen tons of visually appealing impressive personal pages of web designers. Review my App: Illuminator (www.goa41.com)Illuminator is an application that allows to create Flash banner, menus, tabs and so on.What is interesting about the project is that it is a mix of Silverlight and Flash: the application allowing to design the Flash "banners" has been made using Silverlight.Initially this project was built as a demo of what could be done using our toolsets (see www.netikatech.com) but at the end it became a real full project. Therefore, we are a lot less interested by the "technical achievement" and we would like the application to become really useful. Ask HN: What is your favorite hand-rolled malloc?In a similar vein to http://graphics.stanford.edu/~seander/bithacks.html, I'm curious to hear the people's choice for memory pool/slab allocators. My question is a three-parter:1) Allocation size function: Do you allocate fixed size chunks of N objects at a time? Exponential increase in chunk size (I believe valgrind does this for its memchecker)? If exponential, do you also back off exponentially, or linearly? Something else?2) Used/free record keeping: Bitfield? Linked-list? Other?3) New allocations: realloc or array/linked list of pointers (I bet I know the answer to this one)?Some justification would be nice, if you've got the time.

Rather insidious...Flash "cookies"If your browser has a Flash plug-in, it is capable of storing cookies that are not at all obvious.I'm fairly security-minded (as I use OmniWeb's many features for filtering out the stuff I don't want), but this one I missed. And it really bothers me, because:1. Nowhere in the contextual menu for Flash content is there any way to reach the interface for managing cookies (e.g. deleting them). For this, you have to go to a web page: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html 2. The menu does have a "Settings" item, which displays many tabs of Flash player settings. This conspicuously does look like a complete set of controls, yet it omits cookie controls completely. In other words, if you think this shows everything the player can do, it doesn't.3. Although you can finally delete the cookies from the web site, I saw no "don't ever store cookies in the first place" option. So I basically have to keep going in and removing them. (You can limi
