Like many I've been using LLMs to help accelerate the writing of code in my own company and side projects and have been quite optimistic and satisfied with the quality and experience of using the Cursor IDE chat -> composer -> agents to enhance the developer experience.However, recently it seems like there has been a shift in how agents work (I am mainly referring to using Cursor agents here but the seems to also apply for Claude Code). When I introduce a problem to the agent a while ago it used to just start writing code. I remember having to be explicit about selecting the files or even lines I wanted it to edit or generate code in, and be quite precise in supplying the LLM with the relevant context. These days I will write a similar prompt to what I would do before: "Refactor X.ts into separate files /utils/[module].ts using the /shared/utils directory as an example". (just a toy

Yesterday I saw unauthorized usage & SMS's for authy was heavily used on my account. I deleted all API keys. Yet my billing kept going higher. Twilio helped me suspend the account. But i am curious an account without any API keys ideally shouldnt have got further misused. what am i missing?

The idea is simple: I want an AI Agent to be able to make music using my gear, so I gave it tools to do it so I can just say something like "Build me a melodic ambient song with a dark atmosphere" and see the AI just do it.The whole project is Open Source (https://github.com/namirsab/circuit-tracks-tools) and I've written about it in my blog in case you want to go into more details. It is a fun project that includes reverse engineering of proprietary file formats.Would love to hear feedback, both from Circuit Track owners and just in general, what do you think about this idea? It WON'T allow multiple active listeners on the same port.On Windows, it is permissive. Multiple sockets CAN bind to the same address and port if they all set SO_REUSEADDR, which breaks exclusivity. Instead, we need to use the option SO_EXCLUSIVEADDRUSE.More interestingly, on macOS , it sits in between. SO_REUSEADDR can allow multiple binds under certain conditions (ask an LLM or read the man page for more on that).Same name. Different guarantees.

The benchmarks are real: 87.6% SWE-bench (from 80.8%), +13% on coding tasks, 3x more resolved production tasks on Rakuten-SWE-Bench. But there are a few changes that compound on each other for token consumption: a new tokenizer (1.0–1.35x more tokens for the same input depending on content type), xhigh effort mode that reasons longer per turn, and /ultrareview which spins up parallel agents for code review. The model is genuinely better. The question is whether "better reasoning on the same noisy context" is the right optimization. Coding agents still spend most of their budget exploring files they won't touch before doing anything useful — a smarter model doesn't fix that, it just does it more thoroughly. Curious what cost delta people are seeing on real codebases moving from 4.6 to 4.7, especially with the new effort levels. (I've been building in this space — vexp.dev is my attempt at the context side of the problem, happy to share more details if useful).
