Ask HN: Which payment processor/merchant-of-record do you use in 2026?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48738624I'm a solo dev about to sell a one-time-purchase macOS desktop app, and I've been hunting for the right way to take payments and handle licensing. I wanted a merchant-of-record so I don't have to deal with global sales tax / EU VAT myself. My experience so far, in case it's useful to others going through this:- Lemon Squeezy: spent about a week integrating their API and testing the full purchase + license flow, and then got rejected during review with no explanation and no real path to ask why. A week of work to a dead end. Frustrating, and I still don't know what tripped it.- Polar.sh: Went with them after the LS rejection. Onboarding and developer experience have been great so far, though I'll be honest, I haven't pushed real volume through it yet, so I can't speak to payouts or support-under-pressure.- Paddle: keep hearing it recommended as the established MoR option. Haven't tried it. Is it worth the integration effort, or is it heavier than a solo shop needs? I'm considering adding

Show HN: Distributed LLM tracing and GH PR/issue linking [Apache 2.0]https://github.com/superlinked/syntySee where coding agents struggle, what tools eat tokens and how it all links to GitHub PRs & issues.I open-sourced a tool that streams data from all your dev machines, VMs & sandboxes into S3. You can run your own analysis from there or use the bundled TUI.Why I built this: I run a team of ~10 AGI-pilled engineers and struggle to keep track of how the work we do aligns to the milestones/projects we look in planning.synty helps me identify areas of work that are getting a lot of agent/human attention but they are not accounted for in planning and we use this data to justify re-factoring/documentation efforts to remove friction for agents

Show HN: LangevinAI – Automated FP&A for Everyonehttps://langevinai.io/Hi everyone,I built this tool based on my experience as a financial controller at a Fortune 500 company. The idea is to automate most of the analysis work. All it needs is a general ledger, and you can add other relevant documents if needed(emails, contracts, loan sheets, etc) I'm trying to make it work with most GL formatting, even the messy ones you can't even filter on Excel(like with Yardi, the ERP I used at my last job). Then you get a dashboard, KPIs and most importantly variance commentary that's also going to tell you if something is potentially incorrect and why. I also wanted to make sure no onboarding, connection or setup was required, it only works with stuff you already have.I'm intrigued to see if this could be useful beyond the very niche context I built this around(3/4 teams working together, different tools, a lot of info circulating through emails & meetings, stiff organization & Chinese walls). Maybe for SMBs, founders, fractional CFO, etc.It was a first for me to bu

Show HN: Morning Report – daily briefing compiled from Sentry, Linear, Gmail,etchttps://my-morning-report.vercel.appHi HN, I built Morning Report because every morning I was losing the first 30 minutes just checking Sentry, Linear, Gmail, and PostHog separately before doing any real work.It connects to the tools you already use and compiles a single daily briefing, organized into five sections: what broke overnight, what you committed to, what's performing, what needs you, and what happened in the world. Delivered by email and archived on a dashboard. The part I spent the most time on: instead of a generic AI summary, you set your own "editorial voice" in plain English for how you want your data filtered and prioritized. Something like "only show Sentry errors affecting 3+ users" or "always lead with revenue." It actually follows it every morning.Stack: Next.js, Supabase, Inngest for the scheduled collection jobs, Claude for synthesis.28 integrations across mail, dev tools, payments, analytics, CRM, and calendar (Gmail, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Linear, Jira, Notion, Trello, Stripe, Razorpay, PostHo

Ask HN: How would you launch an open-source app with a small budget?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48735500I have been working on Kiyeovo - an open-source desktop P2P messenger with an optional anonymous mode - for almost a year now. The plan is to go full-release on 7th of July.Currently, I’m trying to figure out how to make the launch more visible - market the product (even though it's FOSS).The common answer I saw was to "build in public", but as I, and many of us, don't have any sort of following online - that won't have as big of an effect. Still, useful advice.Since the final release of the product is less than a week from now, I decided to focus a lot more on the marketing aspect.I allocated a budget of 550$ which I will spend on the release. - 150$ of that will go into deploying bootstrap, relay and STUN/TURN servers around the world so that you can use the app without setting up your own infrastructure - path of least friction for users who just want to try the app out.I'm left with 400$ which are going straight to getting the word out. And this is where I need your help and advice

Show HN: AI Agents the Unix Way – built with bash, curl, and jqhttps://github.com/cloudkj/llayerWhile working on an educational exercise tinkering with local models and trying my hand at setting up agents, I went down a rabbit hole: to see how far I could build a custom agent loop using exclusively command-line building blocks and stripping out dependencies wherever possible. It turns out you can get pretty far with pipes, text streams, append only logs, and standard command-line components - concepts pretty well aligned with classic Unix philosophy. The agent is a wrapper composed of a handful of smaller programs, which should allow for flexibly injecting various tool to inspect, filter, redirect, and audit different stages of the agent loop. This project as it stands is a proof-of-concept, but packs enough punch with tool calling support - which in theory should make it indefinitely extensible. With that said, it does appear that the sophistication of tool calling is largely limited by the underlying model, and so far I’ve only experimented with lightweight local models (e.g. lla
