It’s an anonymous app where people can talk or chat freely without judgment.The idea came in 2020 when one of my co-founders wanted to share about his mom’s cancer recovery but couldn’t. It made us realize how hard it is to open up online. Finally, we released the app earlier this year. We’ve also noticed people venting to AI chatbots just to be heard, but AI doesn’t really get you. ChatterBooth is for real human connection, even if it’s anonymous.In the future, if there’s enough traction, we want to reward people as Conversation Starters or Accommodating Strangers — small gestures to encourage connection.We launched on the iOS App Store in 23 countries across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific and have a few hundred downloads so far. About 40 people at a bar/restaurant in Culver City and it was great! Lots of interesting people. Great conversations but when it was over, I had no way to contact any of these people. So I started writing this bluetooth app. Using CBCentralManager on ios and BluetoothManager on android. Each phone broadcasts as a peripheral but also connects as central. Rooms full of phones running the app gossip.Think of the term "peripheral" as server and "central" as client. Yes there are differences in bluetooth and reasons for those terms, but my life got much easier thinking: client server. So in a room with just two phones, which one is which? It can't be a coin toss. If 50% of the time both phones act as the server and neither client, bad. Or if both phones act as clients, bad. So how do you break the tie? Here are some points I gleaned from my conversation:- Dietary fat is most easily stored as fat in the body. Frequently you hear the current understanding is that dietary fat is not the devil, but carbs are. But now I know it it more complex: carbs are converted into glycogen, but they are NOT easily converted into fat (through a rare process called de novo lipogenesis, only if glycogen stores are full, AND there is still excess calories to store).
