Every time the room lights changed, the ball turned into a completely new palette: a red key light here, a cold fill there, a bit of warm bounce off the tabletop. Same ball, new colors, and they always fit together, because they were all made of the same light in the same room.That observation became a scrappy raytracer prototype that sat on my disk for years. It worked, barely, and every change broke two other things, so I mostly left it alone.What finally got it over the line was working on it with AI. Not "the AI wrote it": the idea, the model of the room, and the color decisions are mine. But pair-programming with an agent turned the parts I'd been dreading (porting to TypeScript, a WebGL2 preview that falls back to the exact CPU render, a proper web component, nailing down the determinism guarantees) into afternoons instead of months. I built it for the ClickHouse and Trigger.dev hackathon but honestly super excited on how it came out.If you look at my github I have been working on deploying agents for a decent time now but mainly by spinning up VMs on Hetzner or AWS. The one thing I still wasn't able to crack was how to make these agents per tenant yourself without buying a huge bare metal machine to create micro VMs or use third party VM providers, but I think with Trigger.dev and this work on Rendi I can easily provision these agents per tenant without having to deal with all things VMs and also cost is so low.I also spent a lot of time on the UI and the component library. I literally came up with a brand for my project before starting it up hehe. Making websites wasn't as fun as making games in C++. Overall PHP didn't seem as fun as C++. I made all of my lab projects at the university in C++ with Qt, or wxWidgets or bare WinAPI. In fact, I improved the university the internal testing system on our Math/Physics faculty. I got a privilege to do labs in C++ & Qt even when they were supposed to be C#. Also, in the university I came across Linux and never came back.Nevertheless, I couldn't get a position as C++ programmer and stuck in web development for 15 years. I focused on backend and took care the systems reliability where I could apply my passion about systems programming. I took all of the possible challenges related to the performance and reliability. I built this bare-metal C++ engine to handle mass-node failures in orbital mesh networks. Like During a simulated 300-satellite failure, exact algorithms like Dijkstra take over 400ms to calculate a new route, which drops the connection. I used an ALNS metaheuristic to find a route with a 2.1% optimality gap in just 49ms. It then naturally converges to the 0% global optimum in the background in few seconds all this in standard CPU Core.
