Hello Universe: NASA’s Next-Gen Space Processor Undergoes Testinghttps://www.nasa.gov/technology/hello-universe-nasas-next-gen-space-processor-undergoes-testing/NASA’s High Performance Spaceflight Computing project aims to dramatically improve the computing power of spacecraft. Missions need processors that can withstand the harsh space environment, so they use chips developed years ago that are hardy and reliable. But upgraded chips are needed to enable the development of autonomous spacecraft, accelerate the rate of scientific discovery […]May 12, 2026 3:02 PM

Show HN: Flight Ledger – Track your flights, what they cost, and United statushttps://app.flightledger.netHello HN,Flight Ledger is a private ledger of your flights, focused on (but not limited to) the United Airlines ecosystem. I am a physicist who has been based near two United hubs, first SFO and now IAH, and I fly United a lot, mostly for work.I built this app to track my flights, flight expenses, and Premier status qualification without having to log into various accounts. All the imports (such as MileagePlus activity csv, .eml receipts, or Flighty/myFlightRadar24 exports) and data filling are manual.A primary feature is that the app requires no sign-up and has no backend. Everything is stored locally, using SQLite and WebAssembly. This means that frequent back-ups are advisable to avoid losing data. For more robust backups and multi-device sync, the app also supports sync via Google Drive. I use this option for myself, but would be curious about other possible solutions.Perhaps the main features that differentiate it from other apps are that the app tracks costs and metrics like CPM Aug 22, 2026 1:08 AM

Show HN: Tosynch – reconnect with your friends and meet oftenhttps://tosynch.comI built this app to solve problem I had, and perhaps others too. I have been finding tough stay in touch with friends. Other than occasional hi/hellos, there is lack of meaningful interactions ongoing basis. Tosynch helps with connecting with existing friends, without calendar setup. It does one thing only and focuses on that. There is no hidden agenda of selling personal data for ads, nor any scheme around increasing likes. There is no discovery mechanism, and no public profiles. If we want to reduce our usage of phones and devices, we don't need another app to helps us constrained. We want to create more opportunities to meet people we already know. Tosynch helps increase those opportunities. It nudges after a chosen period, to reconnect and meet. Feedback appreciated.Aug 21, 2026 3:10 PM

ValiantCore – A custom hobby OS kernel and VEF executable formathttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49385832Hello friends, I'm Finn Dev. I have an OS kernel called ValiantCore that supports x86_64/i386 architectures. Aarch64 is gradually starting to be supported. I wrote this OS kernel on an Android phone in a Termux Linux environment because I didn't have a computer and had no income. It's licensed under GPLv2 and you can find it on Codeberg and GitHub under the name finndev62. My official website is https://finndev62.github.io, my GitHub repository is https://github.com/finndev62, and my Codeberg repository is https://codeberg.org/finndev62Aug 21, 2026 9:40 AM

Ask HN: Do you need Google ads help?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49385541Hello everyone! I’m building https://unfetch.com, something like Codex but focused on Google Ads.It has:- Keyword research support (like Ahrefs)- A Google Ads connector- Memory, sandbox, and artifacts- Automations (coming soon, for example, automatically scanning for and adding negative keywords every day)While I iron out the last few details, I’d like to help 10/15 companies run their Google Ads campaigns.I would primarily manage your ads manually while testing the same workflows in Unfetch. I’ll continue optimizing it until I’m confident that it can replace me for most routine daily/weekly monitoring and optimization tasks. If you’re currently running ads or planning to do so, email me at @gmail.com.Aug 21, 2026 8:56 AM

Receive calls only from saved contactshttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49383219Hello folks, I built an app to block calls from non saved contacts, it works for Android.I live in Brazil, and at least here the situation with spam and bot calls is pretty bad, some days you can get calls from unknown numbers constantly. If someone wants to talk to me, they can usually reach me asynchronously (email or whatsapp) and I answer when I can/want. If it’s urgent, the people I care about enough to receive an immediate phone call from are generally already saved in my contacts. So Fone1 does one thing: when enabled, it blocks calls from numbers that aren’t saved in your contacts.I know this usage pattern definitely isn’t for everyone, but if you feel similarly, I’d love for you to try it and share feedback. It’s free and has no ads.If you are an Android user and wants to test, just send me your email so I can add you to list of testers.Aug 21, 2026 3:01 AM

Show HN: Huzzah – a novel approach to coding with AIhttps://www.danielvaughn.dev/posts/huzzah/Hello everyone. I've been working on this experimental editor called Huzzah.I've been working almost exclusively with coding agents since January of this year, and over the past few months I began to feel utterly exhausted by them. They're great, but I'm finding it more and more tedious to write full sentences for every change I want. Not only that, but it seems there's a complexity limit for codebases - beyond a certain point the agent begins confusing itself.I'd like to go back to writing code, but I don't want to go all the way back to fully manual coding. So I've come up with this interaction paradigm where you: 1. write pseudocode in whatever way makes the most sense to you 2. on save, the editor synchronizes your work to real source code 3. the pseudocode is persisted alongside the generated code, making your prompt effectively a stored record of intent. It may not work for every use case, but in my initial playthroughs I've found it very enjoyable.Right now it's just a proof of Aug 20, 2026 7:05 PM
