Ask HN: How do you correct spatial reasoning of LLMs?I'm working on a complex multi-part 3D-printed product, and I needed some engineering input from LLMs. I use highest Gemini Pro reasoning levels, Fable, and K3 Max with everything tuned to highest. The problem I'm facing is mounting a sensor on a barbell sleeve. The sensor is a semi-hollow 100mm cylinder, 60mm diameter, with a 50mm diameter 50mm deep tube cutout for the sleeve. (It's a bit more complex than that.)I'm trying to brainstorm different clamping mechanisms, and evaluate durability and manufacturability of several designs. No matter what I try, the output of all LLMs is absolutely wild, especially if you ask to make a technical drawing. Anthropic reliably been the worst, and Gemini, surprisingly, the best. But none understand what goes where in any detail, besides spewing paragraph and paragraph of wild ideas including rotational cam clamps over a recessed ring TPU collet (apparently, a "brilliant pivot") and stuff like this.Is this the "unconquered frontier"? Do I need to blow

Show HN: Project ESPAÑOL: Find level-appropriate Spanish-language poemsI made this application while taking Spanish lessons to find texts that used verb forms I was learning (present, past, future, subjunctive, etc.). First, I scraped ~10,000 Spanish-language poems from the web that are in the public domain. Then, I built a conjugation dictionary for the 550+ most common verbs, using rules to generate regular verbs, and scraping irregular verbs from the web. From this alone, you can identify which poems contain the most type of verbs you're trying to target. To take it further, I used a k-means clustering algorithm in Python to classify the poems into four difficulty levels based on verb form frequencies (poems with lots of verbs in subjunctive future perfect are more difficult than only present tense, for example).I first completed the project in December 2024, almost entirely by hand, using LLMs primarily to make an interactive Plotly Dash application. (I have a lot of experience with data visualization, especially ggplot2; that was my first time using

Show HN: Blanked – Compare tech hiring processes by role and companyI've been working on blanked basically I feel like the current hiring process within tech is very opaque and you have to commit to multiple rounds without knowing what it will entail or pay. Trying to make a public source list where you can compare the hiring process at different places like number of rounds, interviews etc. Also people can vote and add their experiences anonymously I want it to be like levels.fyi but for the hiring process. Appreciate any feedback would love any contributions as well would help make it more accurate right now its just whatever i have been able to find via forums and reddit. Also lets you say which companies totally ghosted you and then we rank them. Ghosting is a real big issue people are facing in the job market.

Show HN: Devdex – a pixel-art identity page for buildersI made this because my GitHub profile is a grid of green squares and a README, and neither one tells you anything about me.You type in a GitHub username and it renders as a pixel-art page — levels, streaks, achievements, a few themes. Same repos, same commits. It just doesn't look like a spreadsheet anymore. Chocolate tastes the same in a plain brown wrapper, you just don't reach for it.SvelteKit on Cloudflare Pages. The most is geeting designing the pixel character and choosing the color codeNo signup, renders in about two seconds. Try torvalds if you want to see it with a stupid amount of data in it.the continuous bombarded question, that it is perfect or should i add new think or what if it doesn't do well, you know that the self-doubt paradox
