Thoughts on Asimovian AI Beyond LLMs and Creative MachinesAsimovian AI is the ideal AI that should have emerged in an ideal universe — the AI intended to replace the grueling pains and labors of the masses, not the one striving to become a businessman's utopia of intellectual worker replacement.Intention is the most important aspect of any implementation, and we are seeing the results of current AI implementation right in front of us: workers getting sacked with each passing day, humanity competing with itself day in and day out over who impresses their superiors more on these token metrics, emerging glorious narratives of how AI will be 'The Future', the recurring advice of 'Use AI or perish in the tech market'. Now who really gains from these events and who loses? I wonder if anyone ever gives serious thought to this broader question or just keeps being a cog in the corporate wheel like everyone else. It's high time we pushed the "Pause AI" button right now and take a breather and reflect a bit on what exactly is going on here. And no, no bi

Show HN: Monolisa v3 – a typeface for developers and creativesOriginally we (Andrey, Marcus, Juho) built MonoLisa in 2020 as we realised there's room for a better monospaced typeface for developers. The key insight was to make the glyphs slightly wider to make more room for design to make letters like m feel less cramped.Since then we've released a variable v2 (2022) and now we're happy to expand the typeface with a new family called MonoLisa Text. The reasoning was to cover *other* use cases beyond coding with this proportional font.We hope you give Monolisa a go as there's a free trial to try. We also welcome feedback!

Show HN: Timestamp and provenance records for AI-assisted creative workhey guys, I have been chronically online for quite a couple of months now, and honestly, a lot of content that keeps on going viral happens to be AI-assisted. This became more prominent when Seedance 2.0 came. AI work from Seedance 2.0 models are especially really good, that it is so hard to know if they were done by AI or a Hollywood-level production studio, they are that good! Cat videos, to now world cup anime videos are going viral on social media. Being that these videos are just all AI, a question came to mind, how do you know who created it, when they created it, which model they used, and if they have any IP rights over the content? It doesn't sound useful to know that, until a company wants to buy your media, or you want to actually prove to X, Instagram, Youtube or the government that the media you created is yours or, even if you used AI it was under your control. Also, how do I know if the media is really AI? Like, you can't trust anything on the internet these days. All of

Ask HN: Creative ideas for high-engagement, consistent in-person community?Hi everyone, as a solo, single, tech entrepreneur who works remotely and lives as a digital nomad, I go in and out from having consistent community, to feeling isolated. It's a bit ironic because I'm highly social but I need engaged socialization, not loud dance parties (yeah, it's odd I have chosen this lifestyle). I'm tired of all the let's meetup for a drink mixers and want something more engaging and consistent. So I decided, I'll just build it myself - or look for it if I'm overlooking something. In the past, I really thrived with a social co-working space that had lots of events in Brooklyn and when I was in Techstars with a group of highly motivated entrepreneurs from dawn to dusk, sharing ideas, support and holding each other accountable - and before that in acting school, where everyone kind of naturally had house parties every weekend and hung out after class. I'd love to hear your most wonderful, effective, specific ideas...nothing online or how to meet please (I'm covered).

Show HN: ShaderPad – Get Creative with ShadersFor the past few years I’ve been building ShaderPad. It’s the easiest way I know to put a shader on a website. It’s fast, under 6kb gzipped, and includes optional plugins for history buffers, face/pose tracking, and other utilities for interactive shader work.
