We caught it before it ran, but it made us realize that nothing in our stack actually decided what the agent was allowed to do. What mattered for us wasn't the mistake; it was realizing nothing in our setup would have stopped it if we weren't actively on top of it. LLMs are probabilistic, and prompts influence behavior, but they don't deterministically decide what an agent is allowed to do. I started with LinkedIn, then reached out through my network, HN threads, Wellfound, Reddit, and other platforms.I also tried reaching out directly to startup founders building things in areas I like, such as worldbuilding and writing-related products. But many of them are also early-stage and do not seem to have much funding or hiring capacity right now.At the moment, I can find around 6–8 jobs per week, but it is not moving forward. I am not based in the US, which is another hurdle.I am open to learning new things. Show HN: Arcaide – Explore code with multi-level call graphshttps://arcaide.fooOne of the things I do when approaching a new codebase is to find the entry points and start exploring down the call paths. This gives a good overview of the different components in the code and how they're connected. I wanted to translate that to a visual experience, similar to how you would use call graphs, but there's a couple of problems with classical call graphs. One, call graphs represent flow at the function level, so the architectural context is lost. And call graphs tend to get very large and can grow exponentially with program size.The approach I'm exploring is to construct "multi-level" call graphs. These are call graphs represented in the form of program structure showing control flow not just at the function level, but rolled up to higher level units such as classes and packages. Show HN: Android Developer Verification Package blacklisted in Aurora Storehttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48845131So, I have a Lenovo Idea Tab (11") tablet where I don't use a Google account, and several Google apps are disabled including the Play Store. I use Aurora Store and F-Droid to install and update packages. Only time I enable Play Store is to install an update to Play Services because Aurora Store can't (conflicting packages, meaning the signing key of the Play Services package has changed). I keep it disabled because it ignores the 'Don't Auto-update Packages' setting and updates Google apps packages without permission (and sometimes re-enables them)...What does show up as an update in Aurora? The Android Developer Verification package. Of course I immediately blacklisted it. Possible avenue to not install it?Don't know if this will really stop it but it will be an interesting experiment. I am Raj shekhar, a fourth year college student , I have been working on a project for the last 7 months, like i had a huge problem that i tried solving and while solving the problem i realized that this can be turn into a huge Dev tool that everyone can use , so i made it work like everyday almost while having the semester exams in between (for context i am a electrical engineering student and I dont even like electrical, I am a tech lover) so I have to focus on the exams also, while i was building it, I never though it will be become this complex and its pretty helpful also it become a huge thing.Now when it come to post the project on the internet every kid in his home making some cheap vibe coded app/website, the market is filled with garbage projects written by ai, I am not saying that i havent used any AI but I have used it to debug the code and cleaning the repo and for readme. Now, waiting for the prompt to finish introduces constant interruptions, which translates into constant distractions, constant context switch, infinite ideas for endless new projects. My brain is melting. I can literally feel when my neurons start clogging up, forcing me to take frequent pauses just staring outside the window for 10 minutes straight.2. I don't own my own projects anymore. Before, I used to understand every single little implementation detail of a project. When a client reported a bug, I immediately knew what and where to fix in the code base. Now, all I can do is to clasp my hands and recite a prayer to the LLM deity, hoping that my voice will be heard.3. The overlords decide my fate. This is a corollary of #2. There's an outage every other day, and since I don't understand 80% of the code the AI has written, no AI available means it's literally impossible for me to work. I loved it, it taught my kids algebra.... and it was just fun.Over the years I often thought that there should be a calculator for Algebra that works this way... something where you can drag terms around and cancel & distribute with gestures, but most importantly enter your own problems. It should also do more kinds of problems than DragonBox allowed.
