Ask HN: How many of you now use AI over doctorshttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45508047I have recently essentially ceased using doctors for most run of the mill items and instead turned to Ai to diagnose and recommend treatment and then purchased the medications from online pharmacies.For example I order my own blood work. I decide what labs to order and interpret the results via chatGPT / Grok, etc. I then order medications via online pharmacies. Recently started taking High blood pressure medication all worked out with Ai and the results have been great.I still use doctors for things I cannot such as colonoscopy, etc but for everything else I use Ai.I just got frustrated at having to wait 6 - 8 weeks to see a doctor, get labs and then wait another 6 - 8 weeks to see them to review the labs when I can get the entire thing resolved myself in a week.Anyone else do the same?Oct 7, 2025 7:58 PM

I Miss Web 2.0https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45487085I moved to SF in 2007.In those days, Twitter had launched in 2005 in Austin.I met the founders of Instagram at Cafe du Soleil in Lower Haight back when it was this awesome little site and app with a cute retro camera icon.I went to the first JSconf in Washington DC in 2008 or 2009. The vibe at the conference were early exercises into creating early server side runtimes for JS. I think Ryan Dahl might have been at that conference. Coffeescript had a presence, and the guys behind CouchDB announced their thing. I forget but if Node wasn't announced there, it was soon after. I remember a competing project called llmjs or something like that I learned about at the conference. I think it was a Japanese dev behind it.John Resig, the guy that created jQuery was a small celebrity. We shared an elevator ride. I was too nervous/excited to even say hello properly. I journal regularly to reflect on the value my current toolset provides and iterate accordingly, using observations about my thoughts and feelings I glean throughout the day as fodder.None of these things are at all novel, but I’m struggling to find an existing application that replicates this flow.
