My siblings and I had to scramble and get to Singapore asap to support my mom, manage all the procedures, gather all types of documents, figure out which accounts he had access to, talk to numerous banks/institutions, lawyers etc etc etc. It was overwhelming to deal with all this (and this was in Singapore, which tends to be very efficient!) while also having to deal with the grief of losing my dad.
