Show HN: Reviewd – A free, local alternative to Claude Code Review(no API costs)https://github.com/simion/reviewdAnthropic just launched their official Claude Code Review tool, pricing it at $15–$25 per PR. If your team is shipping 10+ PRs a day, that model scales terribly.Even before their launch, I was running a custom local Claude agent for my team to review PRs. The feedback was great and it caught real bugs, but the workflow was a massive time sink. I was manually invoking "claude --agent .. branch_name", grab the output, filter it and post the relevant comments. So I built reviewd to automate the local execution: https://github.com/simion/reviewdIt is a Python-based background daemon that runs on your machine or a VPS.How it works: 1. It polls GitHub/BitBucket for open PRs. 2. Creates a near-instant git worktree (no re-cloning). 3. Optionally runs your actual local test/lint commands (the AI gets the stdout/stderr). 4. Pipes the context into the Claude, Gemini, or Codex CLI you already have installed. 5. Parses the JSON output and automatically posts structured inline and summary comments toMar 11, 2026 4:43 PM

Launch HN: OctaPulse (YC W26) – Robotics and computer vision for fish farminghttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47220320Hi HN! My name is Rohan and, together with Paul, I’m the co-founder of OctaPulse (https://www.tryoctapulse.com/). We’re building a robotics layer for seafood production, starting with automated fish inspection. We are currently deployed at our first production site with the largest trout producer in North America. You might be wondering how the heck we got into this with no background in aquaculture or the ocean industry. We are both from coastal communities. I am from Goa, India and Paul is from Malta and Puerto Rico. Seafood is deeply tied to both our cultures and communities. We saw firsthand the damage being done to our oceans and how wild fish stocks are being fished to near extinction. We also learned that fish is the main protein source for almost 55% of the world's population. Despite it not being huge consumption in America it is massive globally. And then we found out that America imports 90% of its seafood. What? That felt absurd. That was the initial motivation for starting Mar 2, 2026 4:39 PM

While the "Destiny Matrix" system is currently trending on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, most existing tools are either riddled with ads or lack technical depth. This project returns to the algorithmic roots of the system, focusing specifically on the most influential "Karmic Tail" section. We’ve stripped away the "woo-woo" clutter in favor of a high-precision Arcana reduction logic and a "Sacred Geometry" visual experience, providing users with a private, frictionless space to explore subconscious behavioral patterns.Core FeaturesPrecision Algorithmic Logic: Implements the strict 22 Major ArcJan 11, 2026 8:12 PM

Show HN: Hazbin Hotel OC Maker – Create Original Characters with AIhttps://aiocmaker.com/oc-maker/hazbin-hotel-oc-makerHi HNI built a Hazbin Hotel OC Maker, an AI-powered tool that helps fans create original characters (OCs) inspired by the Hazbin Hotel universe. As a fan myself, I noticed that many creators struggle to turn vague ideas into a complete OC — especially when it comes to personality, backstory, visual traits, and tone consistency with the Hazbin Hotel style. Most tools focus only on images or only on text, so I wanted to combine both into a single workflow. What it doesGenerates original Hazbin Hotel–style characters (not existing canon characters)Helps define:Name & demon typePersonality traitsBackstory & motivationsVisual description suitable for artists or AI image toolsDesigned for writers, roleplayers, and artistsWorks entirely in the browser, no setup requiredWhy I made itI’m building a broader AI OC creation platform, and this is one of the first focused generators aimed at a specific fandom. Hazbin Hotel has a very distinct tone and aesthetic, which made it an interesting challenge Dec 14, 2025 5:56 AM

Ask HN: Better places to work for burntout SWE?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46211822I've tried my share of startups and megacorps, FAANGs. I am in a stage where I cringe on hearing a mission is so important that it needs a 996 culture. I also hate work getting stolen in the name of collaboration and politics in general thats daily business in Megacorps. I just want to bang out code, mentor juniors and deliver value in a small team that doesn't have an unhealthy obsession with growth or overworking. Maybe with rich founders who don't want to get more rich.Where can I find good places to work, especially in the US that offer: 1. Remote first setting 2. Mission oriented like Privacy, non-profit background etc (or Open Source with proven history) 3. Holocracy/Flat structureI think the above 3 criteria will really narrow down places that prioritize mission over growth/profits and automatically not pay a lot yet have a higher technical bar that deters a lot of folks who would end up optimizing for things that lead to a mess. Am I looking for a Unicorn?Dec 9, 2025 10:50 PM
