Those services concern themselves with images and video - I wondered, why can't the same be done with music and audiofiles?I actually got the inspiration for the filenaming scheme from the Emacs Denote package - every sample is saved in the format of title--tag1--tag2.mp3. Emacs Denote does something similar, for example an identifier--title--keywords.org .I chose this method as any file browser with fuzzy search can search through samples, i.e. - the Ableton file browser. (Well I've also received a statement from BCBS saying that they won't pay Bio Telemetry $9,000). My first/primary question to HN is:Do you have advice on how to get the actual data?My second question for non-US readers:Does $9,000 seem excessive?Background: For 10 minutes in April I was seeing double. Fearing that it was a transient ischemic attack, MDs ordered lots of tests. The heart monitor was to check for arrhythmias that could cause a clot. I wanted to use an AI assistant to help me navigate, but I had no good way to provide the necessary context.So, I built a tool to solve this: a self-hosted mcp server that gives an AI client a set of tools to explore and understand GitHub repos on its own.My first attempt was naive: I used a library to ingest the whole codebase into a single text file and dump it to the AI. As you can guess, this immediately exceeded the context window limit for any reasonably sized project.The better approach, and the one this tool uses, is to let the AI explore the code on demand. Show HN: Laser-Tracer, programmable virtual volumetric vector displayhttps://westoncb.github.io/laser-tracer/This was an idea I had 7yrs ago that I recently decided to go ahead and build since by working with LLMs (mostly o3 and Gemini 2.5 pro) it seemed doable in reasonable time.The original motivation was partly aesthetic, but mostly that this was the ideal "language" for me to express arbitrary 3d forms through. I wanted something with zero boilerplate that would be a natural fit for algorithmic expression. For me, writing programs that say how to move a "pen" around in 3d space was more intuitive than e.g. writing pixel shaders.The format is inspired by Logo/Turtle, and somewhat mimics how a 3d printer works in that Laser-Tracer programs are G-Code like: the fundamental operation is depositing points; from there we get 'traces' specified by either relative (pen.traceBy(x,y,z)) or absolute destinations (pen.traceTo(x,y,z)).
