I wanted a way to easily navigate through these thousands of pages of unstructured legal PDFs without relying on a paid third-party service or sending data back and forth to a cloud provider. How it works under the hood: Running epstein-search setup downloads ~100K pre-computed document chunks and embeddings (using all-MiniLM-L6-v2) based on the public 20K document corpus. It imports these into zvec (a local vector database) so the index is ready in about a minute. Standard search (epstein-search search) embeds your query locally using sentence-transformers and does a vector similarity search. This step is 100% offline and requires no API keys. Soon enough AI will be used by domestic government agencies. When we know how effective AI can be, IMO guns are going to be more and more useless for any type of defense against a rogue group that can use AI at a state or nation scale. For me a part of the second amendment is here to protect the people against an imbalance of power and a rogue group to the whole government going rogue.Am I mistaking? That shortsightedness causes us to dismantle sustainably profitable companies for an immediate payout. It keeps us from saving and investing; going to the gym; and cooking our own food. It tells us that we should outsource jobs and sell off the machinery we once used to make things, giving us a payout today but making inventing and making new things harder in the coming years. It tells us that it's better to enjoy the oil while it's cheap than to do something about climate change. Initializing the repo 2. Generating sprites - I tried a few image gen tools, but couldn't get a non-messy looking sprite to generate to my liking. I ended up using some free goat sprites I found instead (credited in the About section) 3. Uploading images/sprite sheets (raw claude code can't do this for some reason?) 4. DNS stuffAside from agents timing out/hanging periodically and some style hand holding, it was pretty straightforward and consistently accurate natural language coding end to end.
