Show HN: Android Developer Verification Package blacklisted in Aurora StoreSo, I have a Lenovo Idea Tab (11") tablet where I don't use a Google account, and several Google apps are disabled including the Play Store. I use Aurora Store and F-Droid to install and update packages. Only time I enable Play Store is to install an update to Play Services because Aurora Store can't (conflicting packages, meaning the signing key of the Play Services package has changed). I keep it disabled because it ignores the 'Don't Auto-update Packages' setting and updates Google apps packages without permission (and sometimes re-enables them)...What does show up as an update in Aurora? The Android Developer Verification package. Of course I immediately blacklisted it. Possible avenue to not install it?Don't know if this will really stop it but it will be an interesting experiment. Show HN: Getting GLM 5.2 running on my slow computerA few days ago I found myself trying out GLM 5.2 and was really positively impressed. The capabilities and security I was getting from this LLM are similar to those I've gotten from models like Claude or GPT, and this really surprised me.But then I thought, "I wonder how it would work on a normal computer like mine," and above all, "I wonder if it would work without going into OOM on a computer like mine." So I started working with the help of agents to test this possibility.I started converting the model to int4, understanding MTP usage, and if possible implementing DSA for long context. How it responds in int4 and whether the quality is maintained or not. Until I got to the point, on my computer with 32GB of RAM, I was able to communicate with GLM 5.2 with times that, of course, aren't high in cold start, but even then, we're talking about 0.1 tok/s, but that wasn't important to me. I've always eventually removed site blockers, or just had them become a nuisance that I reflexively dismiss before getting to distracting sites. Site blockers don't really reduce the "start navigating to a distracting site" muscle memory, and they eventually just become annoying. Show HN: Build offline-first web apps in pure Go and HTMLFor a while, I've struggled to really get into the Mobile ecosystem. With the duopology that Google (Android) and Apple (iOS) hold on the mobile ecosystem, it's very difficult for developers to build and maintain decent mobile apps, especially when you're a solo developer and UI/UX isn't exactly you're fore anyway.So I built (after some experiments with a friend @xuu) a little Go application framework that combines HTMX, DaisyUI/TailwindCSS and Service Workers with a little hack that works remarkably well that I've been able to build 3 quite nicely polished mobile apps (PWAs you install to your Home Screen).If anyone is interested in their next mobile app built with web technologies and gives Swag a try, I'd appreicate feedback/ideas!
