I have all kinds of problems when using their web player compared to Netflix and YouTube:- subtitle settings get reset every time I close the website.- the button for changing subtitles is in the upper right corner. Once you open the menu the button for closing it appears in the upper left corner. You can't close the menu by clicking outside of it, despite the fact that you can still see the blurred video in the background.- pressing space doesn't pause the video, but repeats the last action you did. If you closed the subtitle menu by pressing esc, pressing space will open it again. If you entered the full screen mode, pressing space will close it.- there is no way (afaik) to open a list of all episodes from within the player. I don’t drive but like to walk to the supermarket and restaurants. My wife doesn’t like living in a big city, so we’re in the burbs within walking distance of a little “downtown” area.It’s a bit of an unhappy medium because the homes we want still cost $1M, yet it’s a long and limited walk. Plus we’re ready for something new. We’d likely both be happier in a town, living just off some Main Street with 20 or so shops. The city is great but honestly I don’t need more than a good diner, a supermarket, and a friendly bar. Nice to haves are a pleasant climate (not too cold), an airport within an hour or so, and decent public schools.I’m asking here because I hear so much about NYC/SF tech workers being set loose by remote work and leaving. The animals had plenty of trees to climb, and participated in the cognitive experiments voluntarily - bribed with raisins and small pieces of fruit.Getting back home I wrote my first app, based on the most famous experiment - it took me 3 months to first learn to program but the app turned out well and was featured in some countries. For example in case of draught based hunger, rising sea levels because of climate change, oil tanker spill etc.Especially in case of climate change, where consequences come relatively slowly.Context: I read developed countries are helping but they do not have a sense of urgency as it is happening far away. In other words"out of sight, out of mind".Humans mostly agree on what constituts suffering and pain while there are many definitions of happiness.I am thinking that in very simplified terms, emotions are "weights" to data in our neurophysiology. Similarly as nods in neural network have weights to them.I feel a stronger connection to people I personally know and whom I can experience with my physical senses. A woman was at the front desk very upset about having not been upgraded. She was yelling at the staff and causing a real scene. She left with everyone visibly shaken. Chatting with them a little after, this sounds like an all too common scene.This morning, as promised, a 1 star rating shows up on every review platform. She claims the hotel is ugly, the staff was rude and racist, and even that someone had pushed her.Everything about this claim is a lie. My partner and have been here 4 days and everything has been fantastic. Every single person on the staff goes out of their way to be helpful and the property is beautiful.Looking more at their reviews online, there are a handful of 1 star reviews with some crazy claims. One even looks to have photoshopped an image to make the pool appear dirty.
