Show HN: GPT-reviewer – Simple AI code reviewer for GH Actionshttps://github.com/vayqerlukashakkarainen/gpt-reviewerGPT-Reviewer: AI-Powered Code Review GitHub ActionI've built a GitHub Action that automatically reviews pull requests using GPT-4o or Claude, enforcing custom project rules through inline comments.Key Features:• Custom rule enforcement via .project-rules.md configuration • Support for both OpenAI GPT-4o and Anthropic Claude • Gitignore-style file filtering with .ignore files • Inline PR comments with specific line-level feedback • Zero-config setup beyond adding your API key, rules file and ignore file (optional)How it works: The action fetches PR diffs, parses only added lines, and sends them to your chosen AI provider along with your project rules. The AI returns structured JSON feedback that gets posted as inline comments on the specific lines that need attention. It is a one-shot prompt.Example project rules:## Security - Never hardcode API keys or secrets - Validate all user inputs## Code Style - Use descriptive variable names (whatever that means) - Mark typos as warningsSetup is

Show HN: Scratch Radio Ft Doctor Von Peel: An LLM / Cat-Based Apple Music Clienthttps://standard-default-and-grace.github.io/DoctorVonPeel/This is an MacOS Apple Music client I built.Instead of a library, or a list of songs, it's pretty much just a simple, beautiful chat UI.You are chatting with the legendary Doctor Von Peel, who is a DJ, but also an adorable cat.Doctor Von Peel (who is technically a triage of LLMs, using an OpenRouter backend) is able to control your Apple Music via tool calls. You can either ask him to play something specific, or just a vibe, and refine as you go. It's quite a refreshing way to stream music, I think.Having said that, Doctor Von Peel speaks in a combination of Cajun, German, and London slang, and I suppose some people might find this grating. Doctor Von Peel is inspired by Dr, John, John Peel, some other very charming but not-famous people I know, and the pleasant, fever-dream aesthetic I remember computers having when I was a child ("Who is this paperclip man, and what could he want?"). I also like when there are little animals on my computer.I built it as a "for myself" project because

Show HN: Personalized insights from your bookmarks delivered every Sundayhttps://apps.apple.com/us/app/eyeball-recaps-for-your-mind/id6670705634Sharing something that I’ve been working on:I made a save-later app for all my bookmarks. I save links throughout the week and, every Sunday morning, the app sends me a personalized recap with: -patterns and themes that connect my week to my broader interests -a nudge toward links I saved but never revisited -one reflective question to help me decide what else might be worth exploringI was inspired by older read-later apps like Instapaper. I wanted to make something minimalist, so it’s just a simple feed of your links (with tags and annotations linked to each link) and it is set up to ingest all kinds of content, not just text. I also did want it to be bloated as the full-fat AI stuff you see recently. So this is a simpler and more proactive take on the concept of a bookmarking app.Happy to answer any questions. Opening Gnosispay Account Considered Impossiblehttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44766260I read a very intriguing post explaining how its possible to get a VISA card without needing a bank.Part of this is getting a Gnosispay account.Opening an account has had enough problems - and in the end was impossible - that I'm inspired to write a post.So here's how it went;1. On laptop, go to Gnosispay site, begin sign up process, enter my email addy.2. The site now instructs you to continue on your mobile phone - you're given a QR code and a URL. I go to my phone.3. Sign up now asks for photo of passport using mobile camera, no problem.4. Sign up now performs a liveness check, to make sure you're a human. What you have to do was not clear to me, and it took a good ten minutes of playing about to pass.5. Sign up now asks fora proof of address less than three months old. Well by chance I happen to have an exactly three months old - to the day - bank statement, but it has the wrong address, my old address. I supply this, because the alternative is changing address with bank and gettin

Show HN: TraceRoot – Open-source agentic debugging for distributed serviceshttps://github.com/traceroot-ai/tracerootHey Xinwei and Zecheng here, we are the authors of TraceRoot (https://github.com/traceroot-ai/traceroot).TraceRoot (https://traceroot.ai) is an open-source debugging platform that helps engineers fix production issues faster by combining structured traces, logs, source code contexts and discussions in Github PRs, issues and Slack channels, etc. with AI Agents. At the heart are our lightweight Python (https://github.com/traceroot-ai/traceroot-sdk) and TypeScript (https://github.com/traceroot-ai/traceroot-sdk-ts) SDKs - they can hook into your app using OpenTelemetry and captures logs and traces. These are either sent to a local Jaeger (https://www.jaegertracing.io/) + SQLite backend or to our cloud backend, where we correlate them into a single view. From there, our custom agent takes over. The agent builds a heterogeneous execution tree that merges spans, logs, and GitHub context into one internal structure. This allows it to model the control and data flow of a request across services.

Show HN: Flowcus – Kanban Board for OmniFocus and Apple Remindershttps://getflowcus.app/I've been an OmniFocus user for years but always felt something was missing – I could capture everything but couldn't see the bigger picture of my work. Traditional task managers are great at collection and to do lists but I think they don't solve the problem of visualising and managing work.*What It Does*Flowcus is a macOS app that visualises your OmniFocus, Apple Reminders & plain text tasks as a customisable Kanban board. It's not intended to replace your task managers, rather it enhances them by providing:- Visual workflow with customisable columns and swimlanes - Drag-and-drop task management that syncs back to your original task managers - Work-in-progress limits to prevent overcommitment - Eisenhower matrix view for prioritising important vs. urgent work - Ability to mark tasks as blocked and visualise dependencies - A unified view of tasks from multiple platforms - Throughput & ageing work metricsFor example, you might have research tasks in OmniFocus, meeting reminders in Appl

Ask HN: What are some advanced fact check strategieshttps://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44742693I have been reading a lot of technology news lately from diverse sources and observed some patterns that are easy to verify - outdated info presented as news, misleading title, etc. On the other hand, some news pieces look credible but when I start to verify it leads to a dead-end (or at least nothing that wouldn't take hours to verify). Google's fact-check tool seems to work only on old and popular news only. The case in point right now, this article: https://techxplore.com/news/2025-07-vulnerability-packet-paralyze-smartphones.html* I did not find any other reputed source linking back to this article. * The site has decent domain authority. * Searched the publishing institute (KAIST) website with google search (https://www.google.com/search?q=LLFuzz+RCE+site:https://www.kaist.ac.kr/) and did find the original article (likely the original source)So far so good. But the concerns are1. Is this enough fact-checking, what other techniques am I missing? 2. This whole process takes time, are

Show HN: Scryptogram – A game where you unscramble a summary to guess the titlehttps://scryptogram.com/playHi HN,I'm Kyle and I've been working on Scryptogram — a word puzzle game where you’re given five scrambled sentences that describe a person, place, or thing. Your goal is to unscramble the sentences and guess the subject. It’s a mix between trivia and word scrambles. It’s browser-based and mobile-friendly. In the future I'd like to move to a mobile app, but I'm still figuring out the core game loop and experimenting.I’d love feedback on puzzle difficulty, ideas for themed puzzle packs or growing my game, and overall whether or not you had fun - all feedback is welcome. Thanks for checking it out!
