Many downsides... but rewarding (social + profit) if you can carve out a foothold and grow your installed base.We're a small, bootstrapped, EdTech company in a niche space (think desktop application for a humanities field) that's looking for mentorship from an experienced EdTech veteran (either on the tech or business side). We've grown annual revenue to ~$600-700K (~$400K of that is ARR) across a variety of accounts: K-12, Universities, large publics, small privates, etc.Product engagement and customer satisfaction is great; we have low churn at an expensive price point + high conversion rates on pilot trials, but we're struggling to level up and grow to the next stage (which we define as $1MM+ ARR or an installed base across 500-1000 schools).There seems to be many older/experienced operators in the B2B and B2C spaces. Ask HN: Does anyone get numbness in the pinky?https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6620337I recently started getting numbness in my left pinky. Here is a little background on me: An amateur coder who spends many hours every day on his laptop (although recently I haven't been doing enough coding practise). I'm left handed, mainly stick to ubuntu and tend to use gvim, I hardly ever use emacs. I looked up "emacs pinky", but this seems to be associated with pain in the finger (here's a nice picture http://www.flickr.com/photos/gabrielsaldana/4468068807/in/photostream/). I had a quick look at carpal tunnel syndrome, but this is associated with the median nerve. The pinky is innervated by the ulnar nerve, and I can't recall any injuries in the past few days. Also over the last few months I have made an effort to keep a reasonable sitting position when typing. Anyone with similar experiences? I am not asking for medical advice or an "online diagnosis", since I can make an appointment with the local witch doctor after the weekend finishes.Oct 27, 2013 1:23 AM

It's a hell of a lot more conducive to creativity than working in an office cubicle. You got your drink, you got your smoke. You sit at a table with wifi and a plug and you're invincible until about six drinks in. You look out over the patio at the mountains and you think...this is what life's all about.Then at about 6pm the soccer game starts. Suddenly, the owner of the bar comes out and unplugs your laptop, turns on the TV, and cranks the volume up to 7000000. Even though there's no one there. You say, "Man, that's too loud."
